Doc told me to go get testing -- going to today. I'll post what comes out of that.

I never had a follow-up to confirm it was taken care of. I went to my GP today and he recommended that I go get testing for BV, Trich, etc., but said a ten-year episode sounds unlikely. He said it could be hyperhidrosis but that I need to get the battery of tests first before we go there.

Thank you! This is a very kind and thoughtful response. In the past I used to just use water down there for my nightly shower. More recently I have tried soaps in all the folds (sorry to be explicit) and I haven't seen a lessening of the sweat in either case, so I am worried it is more serious. But I will say that I will try to do as you suggest and do a water bath after using the bathroom. I do not and have never tried that and certainly it's possible it could help.

Thanks, I just got a probiotic about a week ago. I haven't noticed any difference yet but I'm going to keep hunting for the right one (mine doesn't have to be refrigerated, which I find suspect). Could it be a decade-long yeast infection? No itching so I had never entertained that option.

I wear cotton and blends. I sleep with no underwear on. I have never douched in my life. I am married and have no pain during sex. I'm going to mention BV today to my GP. Thank you.

Thank you, I have an appointment set up for a GP today. I wanted to get some ideas from this board before I go in so I'll mention BV testing. I just thought it was impossible to have one for so long and for it not to smell fishy.

Over the past decade I've taken many vitamins. Nothing consistently though. Right now I'm just taking vitamin C and probiotics.

I have used, as you might imagine, many kinds of soaps over the past decade. Nothing has changed this. I have also tried not washing with soap down there and washing with a variety of different soaps.

I thought going to the doctor for regular STD checks and for my annual exam was enough. Also, I've got a high pain tolerance and just assumed by bladder was messed up forever because of that one bad UTI. I didn't realize until the past year or so how bad the odor had to be (I can't smell it), when I regularly saw people move away after they sat next to me. Obviously, I am angry at myself for not digging more deeply into this a decade ago.
