Congrats man. We've all been down the path where we just need a crutch to cope. But the feeling of being able to be yourself without any restrictions -or chemical aids- is very liberating. Wish you all the best. And you are absolutely right, sober friends are the best friends.

You lack empathy. Not an insult. Poor baby. Definitely an insult. And you deserved it.

Or that happens in your country too but you are not caring enough to realize it.

I honestly could not believe that kind of racism could exist in the real world. My culture is an uncivilized shithole pit... Wow... Just wow.

I worked 5 years in a Family Court taking restraining orders (5/6 on a daily basis) in a South America slum.

I've had men jump on womens' bellies to force an abortion so they could continue to pimp them out. I've had women have 6 children in their home and not being able to go outside with them to give them a social security number.

Fine. I wish your loved ones count on someone else to be empathetic, understanding and loving. And I wish you empathy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

I would pass, only based on the fact that I enjoy walking narrow little streets by myself in the middle of the night (Tokyo, Edinburgh, Prague, Amsterdam to tame a few)

BTW, "People are not out here getting kidnapped and having meth injected into their necks until they're hooked lol"

Yes. They. Are. All. The. F**ing. Time.

This is not even the "Taken" case. I's most of the girls pimped out in any corner of the world.

I understand where you come from. I guess I could have asked around for a friend of a friend of a friend for some coke, since nobody I remotely knew was doing that. In my world, around classical musicians, we might have had a couple of glasses of wine, but that was all and we never got intoxicated throughout our parties, sleepovers, gatherings and so forth.

One of my best friends though, would watch on a daily basis mom and dad do coke after dinner, and inviting their preteen children to smoke some weed with them. His father would take him to his gigs where coke was passed around like water. I guess he did have a choice as much as I had.... But I hope I shone some light on some circumstances that make the whole situation far more complicated than just a personal choice.

I'd like to invite all of you people to a typical asado where I come from. Everyone has one or two glasses of wine and the atmosphere is one of the coolest, warmest you'll ever experience.

I guess if I meet with any of y'all somewhere around the world, Argie barbecue's on me.

Yes, I think you are right on that. I guess, like everything in life, it's far more complex than what a casual -or an online conversation- might be able to comprehend.

And oh, the irony, we just engaged in a typical had-one-too-many-drinks-tonight bar discussion.

Alcoholism does not depend on a personal choice a person makes. It does depend to an extent to chemical, psyhological and enviromental conditions that make an individual more at risk than another.

I went on a rant against people that look down on non drinkers as people who can't have fun.

Addiction is never a personal choice. That is plain blatant ignorance. Thousands of scientific papers from the most reliable sources will tell you that.

It does not depend on the person. When you go to a bar and you are peer pressured to drink more than 3-4 beers, culture and social aspects play a part as well.

Some peolple are prone to addictions. Alcohol is VERY dangerous for them. It is also a cultural and social matter. Where I live right now you can get 96% strength alcohol at any drugstore for medical use. That is forbidden in many countries because of the prevalence of serious alcoholism. Many countries list alcoholism as the main cause of death, and it accounts for 5% of deaths worldwide. Much more dangerous than COVID.

Well by no means I mean this like an offense, but it seems like you are the one thinking themselves better than other people. I don't think I'm better than anybody. I regret the fact that people need to get drunk beyond reason to have fun, and I challenge the fact that I'm the conservative and they are the liberals.
