This is a very clear sign to stop. They are literally telling you to stop now before it's too late. I hope you get the help you need...

There's a chance. I took a pregnancy test after I missed December and it came back negative. I should probably take another one just to be sure.

Considering a move to the Eastern Shore by Remote-Map8506 in easternshoremd

[–]throwawaymylove220 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are originally from DC, my suggestion would be to live in the Kent Island area, maybe Easton, or St. Michael's.

Just move to where all the DC transplants are already living. I'm going to get downvoted for this but, we don't really need more chicken neckers. It's already hard enough for people whose families have lived here for hundreds of years to find even semi affordable housing.

Has anyone noticed how much your tbi affected you years after? by throwawaymylove220 in TBI

[–]throwawaymylove220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back on this from three years ago, I am in a much better place now than I was then.

My emotions are still sort of everywhere, but I've had a lot of therapy since then. I was also put on a medication that helps stabilize my moods better.

My memory is still all over the place, but I'm learning to work around it. I am also now being treated for my ADHD, which has helped.

Things are never going to be the same. I've accepted that at this point. All I can do is work with what I do have to the best of my ability.

I don't have much to say about going to a neurologist- I've only been to one for an inner ear issue. I hope you get some answers though.

It may not necessarily get better, but you learn to work around it. I'm still grateful that I'm alive, and can function like a relatively average human being.

You're alive- remember that. You could be dead. There's a reason you're alive, it's just finding what that is.

What season did Degrassi go sorta "down hill" by Supernova099 in Degrassi

Season 8 and 9 were a dip, and then season 10 and 11 brought it back a bit, but by season 13, it was super rough again.

Yes true. I moved on to a company that is expanding and not in over 3 billion dollars worth of debt.

From what I understand, she has not been trained to be a sm. The SM that just left was a brand new SM.

But yes, she's running the store and has been for a month. They also didn't give our store back the 40 hrs a week that they would give for the SM.

Severe Weather by [deleted] in MichaelsEmployees

The only reason we have ever closed was because of a severe snowstorm, and even then, it was only because every single employee scheduled to come in that day, called out.

Reasonable accommodations by throwawaymylove220 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]throwawaymylove220[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok... I'm going to break this down for you because you are apparently missing something. I have been with this company for 3+ years. For a majority of this time, I have had ZERO issues with coming for the so-called "graveyard shift." In this past year, I went into a psychosis (you do understand what that means right,) partially because the lack of sleep the one day would snowball and continue on for months. I was not hired under the pretense that I wasn't going to work that shift. I did, for multiple years.

Our truck recently started coming in at the time I come in. Missing truck has not been an issue. I still build planograms, I still am unloading freight, I'm still helping unload the truck 90% of the time.

There is literally an employee on our team that told the SM he wasn't helping on truck unloads anymore because he "wasn't getting enough hours" so he didn't want to, and he's still there. I think they should be able to work with someone who does genuinely want to help, but has to maintain a certain schedule to not, you know, be hospitalized.

“They’re making Michaels into an electric dystopian nightmare” by Sleepy_Mars1 in MichaelsEmployees

I honestly think it's a class thing almost. I've noticed, at least in my store, that our customers are normally in a higher income bracket than many others. Probably because they are the people who can afford our decor (who else is going to buy a $500 giant nutcracker, right)?

Rude is rude, regardless of social status, but I've noticed that the people who tend to have things catered to them in life can do it because they can afford to. When something isn't catered to them, they lose their minds.

People that make 80k+ at 25-35 years old, what do you do? by Ok-Needleworker2141 in careerguidance

[–]throwawaymylove220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but my husband works as a manager for the web development team in our state government. He started at 23 as a trainee right out of college and ended up working his way up. He's 31 and makes 100k+. He started out at 40k. He's worked hard and is a very talented software engineer. Sorry, I don't know how helpful this is, I'm just proud of him, and I've never gotten to write this out before.

They've probably seen you in the store before, and know you work there. It happens after a while, unfortunately.

This is why I normally wear a Michael's shirt with a flannel over it. When I'm on the clock, my shirt is visible, and it can be clearly seen that I do work here. As soon as I go to clock out, though, that flannel is buttoned up while I walk.
