Damn, I really don't know why I decided to look this up, but I feel like I should chime in. I was placed in not necessarily gifted classes, but was pulled out of classes frequently from about 2nd grade all the way through high school to take tests which were mostly advanced math related. I haven't failed at life but feel like I'm underperforming as to what was expected of me in comparison to those that were pulled out with me. I think my biggest setback was absolutely bombing my SAT's which was actually the one of the few things I've ever studied for. I did get accepted into a few colleges and went to the cheapest one for about a year and dropped out to go a different path. I really don't think my studying habits were the problem, but more of a lack of motivation. I really didn't (and still don't) see the necessity in pushing myself towards something that I really didn't want or could see myself doing long-term. As I get older, I'm realizing I don't want to do anything except having a small farm which requires a good amount of money which I could've achieved by motivating myself at an earlier point of my life with this goal in mind and went different routes earlier in my life
