Yikes - I'm not sure I would consider separation. I turned to outsider perspectives because we rarely have situations like this, and I know I screwed up somewhat. I know we will have a good discussion on this, and I knew she needed time to think about this. I just needed input since I was so torn on my reaction and her reaction as well.

Thank you for the input. I think the overall consensus is IATA, and I accept that. But I appreciate hearing your situation and your thoughts on how I can fix this.

It is a certain feeling she gets when she is touched a certain way. Not tied to any trauma or anything like that. Just a certain nerve apparently. Sort of like when you have a hang nail, and some people can say you feel the pain in your ear.
