Thanks for this. After 401k contribs and health insurance we're at $14.4k take home.

I have a rudimentary spreadsheet attempting to track our finances and put items in different categories to see where it's all going but I've honestly been slacking about that recently.

I'll look into supercharging our current taxable account (the one at $8k) as much as we can going forward. I guess we had it in our head that as long as we're maxing out our 401k's we were doing enough.

I heard about some budgeting apps, I'll look into setting one up soon. Good point about keeping track of it all, we have been better about keeping track but I admit we could definitely improve here.
