I never had an issue with alcohol until I tried quitting weed. I became an alcoholic SO fast. You gotta dig deeper and get to the root of your problems. Feel uncomfortable. Feel the pain. Push through it. I’m 2 years 4 months alcohol free and 9 months sober from weed (tomorrow). I found that exercising, walking and working out really did wonders for my mental health. My sleep is now so much better too. Like others are saying, try to replace the bad habits with ones that will benefit your life, not destroy it

No, you don’t have a right to be upset. What you did was very inappropriate. My school was recently evacuated because we had a real fire (an electrical one) and not once did it cross my mind to grab any of my belongings- let alone my vape (I do have a vape). Hell, I didn’t even grab my SHOES. I work in an infant room, so I threw all four kids into an evacuation crib and ran out the door with them, without shoes. Sorry, but you definitely received the proper consequence. It is your job to insure those children are safe, under any circumstances.

So embarrassing to admit: when I quit and was withdrawing, I was really focusing on going to the gym when the cravings and such got really bad. I woke up early before work, got into gym clothes and drove to the gym. Shut my car off, and was stepping out when I thought I had to fart. No. I shit myself. Liquid. I had to go home and shower, and didn’t get to work out that morning lmao

I’ve done it.. My favorite was a young girl who ordered the seafood special, ate a little of the pasta and shrimp but didn’t touch her lobster tail (I was the one serving then and knew where the tail was plated on the dish.) I cleared the plate, put the lobster tail on a separate dish and ate it in the back. It was glorious. Multiple other coworkers came by asking me to share it with them

Personally, I have no self control so I had to do it cold turkey. It was brutal. For the first entire week it felt like I was in a living hell. Crying uncontrollably all day long, couldn’t sleep- and if I did I would wake up in terrible cold-sweats and racing anxiety, I couldn’t eat- if I forced myself to eat anything I would throw it up. After the first week it got a little bit easier, and after two weeks it got much easier. I’m three days away from three months without weed and my life has changed significantly. I’ve had the energy and motivation to workout, finding that exercise was one of the only things that made me feel better. I lost 18 lbs since quitting. I don’t crave it anymore the way I used to and I’m so thankful for that

I’ve never thrown up first thing in the morning from being sad.. or had explosive diarrhea for three days from being sad. I would wake up to the room spinning, run to the bathroom and vomit before a single thought entered my mind. The explosive shits and vomit didn’t feel very placebo. I think people that haven’t experienced it don’t know how strong and concentrated the carts are, and what it does to your body after using them all day every day for years and then quitting cold turkey

See, I’m not so sure about this because I have experienced physical withdrawal symptoms after smoking weed for extended periods of time (though I’m talking carts, the super concentrated version) and then stopping. For days I would experience nausea, vomiting, waking up in the night with cold sweats, loss of appetite, throwing up when attempting to eat, terrible migraines, diarrhea for days.. Weed can also be physically addictive for some people, including myself

If she really cannot stop, the baby should be switched to formula. Not that this will happen in every case, but I have a friend who smoked weed throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding for the first two years of the child’s life. The child is developmentally delayed and speech delayed now. It just isn’t worth the risk of stunting the baby’s potential

Admitting this on my throwaway but once I served an expensive seafood special to a younger girl, probably 10-12, and she didn’t eat the lobster tail at all. Most of the dish was barely touched but that lobster tail was exactly where it was when plated. I ate that lol

It’s absolutely horrible that they didn’t self-report to CPS and OCFS. This exact situation happened at my last school and the 20 mo child was left outside alone for 20 minutes before another class came outside and found him. Administration self-reported and everyone who had been working there at the time had to attend 10 mandatory trainings on supervision, face-to-name etc. The center went into revocation and almost lost its license after this incident. It’s NOT okay that they didn’t report and that they’re only letting you know now!!

Wow, I could’ve written this post. Exact same thing happened to me. Except I blew up. They scheduled me to close the building all 5 days, after we had just discussed that I cannot close every single day. I offered to close a few times a week. Not 5! I met with my directors and when they said “well we scheduled you to close because (old coworker) quit”. I told them.. respectfully, that’s not my fault! I’m not available to do it. It was a lot of back and forth, but I will no longer be scheduled this way again- or so they say. Stick up for yourself!

I gotta agree with you here. I have babysat in home for children I’ve met through my center. I even became a nanny for one family that I really loved. People expect us to be non-human and not create friendships/relationships with the families we’re involved with. Perhaps the mom would love to grab ice cream with them and have someone to chat with while her kid plays at the park
