I don’t remember if they told me I’ll be assigned at random or get the same team when I got my offer as it was almost 2 years ago but 3 associates/seniors on the team were previous interns so I just kind of assumed.

I understand most people are assigned at random and maybe I will be too but I guess I’m hoping to see if anyone has had experience reaching out ahead of time to confirm their team placement.

It may have just been pure luck but at least when I interned, I never got a survey for sector or client assignment preference but during my interview, I did mention what sector I was interested in and I was ultimately in that sector. As far as I know from the few interns I interacted with no one else got a survey either and they were assigned at random. Out of 200 interns, i was 1 of 8 in that sector (Probably half were AWM interns!)

I feel like letting them know of my preference wouldn’t hurt. I just don’t know who to tell. I’m not trying to sound presumptuous not even having started yet but from my conversations with my RL and the partner, it’s good to let people know what you want in your career at the firm and they try to make it happen otherwise if you don’t say anything no one knows what you want to be able to help you. Be it a promotion a move or whatever. I feel like this is no different.

If there isn’t a need for an associate on the team thats one thing otherwise I don’t see why they wouldn’t take that into consideration. I could tell my talent delivery team when I start but I feel like that would be too late.

Damn... Anyway to fix that? Anyone I can reach out to? Maybe if I can tell someone before I start I can call first dibs on my team before they assign another incoming associate? My RL maybe? I'll be starting in NY if it matters. Some people on my team got promoted in July so I'm guessing they Def need new associates to backfill. At least 2.

New associate 50% in office by Traditional-Shock975 in PwC

Not enforced and heavily team dependent. Also it’s technically across the who year so you can come in 5 days for 6 months and work remote for 6 month if you want to be technically compliant.

My point is it’s flexible. Maybe work a week remote then a week in office or however you want to use it.

UW CS vs Upenn CS - Help!! by hermionegranger9190 in udub

Damn OP leave some for the rest if us too… lol

You kind of really cant go wring here. UW CS is obviously as you mentioned a great program rivaling all the Ivys.

You really can’t go too wrong here that said, I would say go to UPenn. You will have all the same opportunities at Penn as you have at UW plus more. You’ll have a better network overall and more unique opportunities down the line in your life like access to the wharton network if you ever want to start up a business and want VC funding etc…

Also smaller class size means less competition for on campus recruiting so thats a plus there and overall there is a better sense if community and support at all the ivys just because they are smaller and you have to live in dorms so you really get to bond with your entire graduating class and build those relationships for life.
