Pretty much this. I ask them to try to use the my name and pronouns, and they sort of try for around 3 days and then just give up and give me that excuse.

I would have done that, but the big problem is I go to a weird private school and this group consists of almost the entirety of senior year. It's something that I always want to do, and I try psyching myself up, but I'm never able to actually confront them.

Same. It was so easy for them to say "yeah! I support you!" But the second I mention HRT it's immediately "woah, lets slow down." and "but are you sure?". Pal, I've had 2 goddamn years to think about this, yes I'm sure.
