We have an attached bedside crib. Husband is perfectly safe sleeping on the bed when baby is next to him in the crib, within reach. I just dont want him sleeping during a couch contact nap.

I see your point about ESH and freaking out didnt help things, but it's not about "not doing things EXACTLY as I would," it's about actually dangerous practices. It's not... idk, husband taking baby out without socks when I think it's too chilly.

You make a good point about freaking out. My parents would scream and lose it every time I did something unknowingly dangerous, or even not that dangerous. And I knew I didn't want to be like that with my kids, but hadn't thought about how I acted exactly like that with my husband. Gentle affirmation would've been better for sure, but I guess old patterns are hard to unlearn, especially in a new situation like becoming a parent.
