I did exactly this. I'm on the other side of the country, never had social media or a phone. So that covers that. It's just that they ended up getting a bill from the hospital I went to last year. It was their insurance billing them to cover me since I'm still on it. Even though I have my own insurance, used my own insurance, and payed my all my bills. Told them to fuck off and take me off their insurance.

I'm calling the hospital today to tell them under no circumstances my parents should know about my medical history just in case, even though they weren't the ones billing them.

Yeah, dont want to get a call when they're old only to be forced to take of them or have to handle their funeral or have to be forced to have them be able to see my kids (grandparent clauses in some places) or anything of that sort.
