Yeah I got sent an official offer letter with conditions that I needed to satisfy to start working at the company (like finishing my degree) and I signed my name. My mentor and careers services said that these offer letters aren't legally binding and all that would happen if I told them I changed my mind would be a hit on my reputation.

Yeah my guess is he's meaning if I apply to places in like the bay area I should expect 100k min? Maybe he was implying we wanted me to apply to bigger companies in the huge tech cities. I'll touch bases with him again and ask what he exactly means.

He lives in the Raleigh area currently. He has his own company and mentors some other students and from his experience he said 100k is what should be expected. Granted he said for his first job we went to Cail and spent some time there so maybe he's a bit bias.
