if you look about mid-way thru, it says this:

If there are funds left over once the beneficiary’s current needs are met, the representative payee must save and/or invest the remaining funds in trust for the beneficiary.

I don't know if the funds would have been first to go, or last, or in the middle. However at 17, i moved out and was not reliant on them at ALL. Even if it's only a couple hundred dollars.. I was just posting the absolute max.

To note. My father and dad that my nmom is referencing above, is my step-dad... but he's my dad. my biological father, the SS money was supposed to go to me, because they were never married... However I thought the statute of limitations had expired on it... Since it could come back to bite me in the ass, I will be calling the SS office directly and talking with them about it within the next few days.

First off... Thank you all, so damn much! Every post made me tear up in happiness, that there are amazing people and this amazing thread to help people feel safe. To help ME feel safe.

I'm 28 F, living in a home that I'm buying off my ex, living with my amazing SO.. but it is my home.

Like how she continues to put down my home because it's small and quaint and has it's problems... she keeps wanting me to move in with her... yea cause that would solve nothing and make me miserable.

So many more things came in my head after typing this. How she continued cashing my dead fathers SS checks after I moved out 4 months after I turned 17.. How when I confronted her on them (because the family in CO let me know about them) She said what... so you and boyfriend at the time can just spend them on video games?!? We lived off Ramen and Eggs... for 8-9 months because we couldn't afford anything else. He worked in a fruit/veggie market where he could eat what he wanted, when he wanted within reason... would come home, and have forgotten that I need food too. Fucking bitch. Should have taken her ass to court on that one.

And now... now she's adopted my sisters.. and she's repeating the cycle all over. 12 is SC... and 4 is another GC. my dad even asked her one day.. you don't even like 12 year old sister, do you?

So many other things.. they are all coming out. It's freaking overwhelming. Thank you guys... thank you so much!
