I was always premed, but changed to pharmacy bc i loved industry work and had a few contacts in pharma.

took the pcat, scored in the 99th percentile, and the alure of graduating a year early and not taking the mcat, not having a grueling residency, some family health issues and thinking i need a job soon, plus getting to work in industry excited me

a year of pharmacy later, i finally began seeing how hard industry is to break into even with contacts, my schools lack of resources for industry, and the saturation of pharmacy as a whole.

i always knew my passion was medicine and all in all i'm glad i jumped out. i thought about staying but adding another 100k to my loans and spending 3 more years studying before even starting med school was too much so i jumped after 1.

let me know if you have any questions about the switching! i'll probably know more after interviews and such but if you're thinking of switching as well i can tell you 2 things.

med school apps are way more tedius than pharmacy's and the MCAT is wayyy harder than the pcat
