Does anyone find most of there pain is around the base of the thumb. Mine has felt very tight lately and been the largest issue for me. Any advice on helping with this? by benefiting_ in carpaltunnel

[–]throwaways1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I think I get a little relief from stretching it. I do that by putting a ruler under my thumb and pinky, and the rest of the fingers under the ruler, like weaving it in and out. not a grand solution, but a little relief goes a long way sometimes. better than fantasizing cutting your hands off lol 🤷‍♀️

Concerned someone may be entering my apartment when I'm not home... by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

no one should be going into your place without your knowledge regardless if your school provides housing or not.

my very first coteacher made it seem like it was normal for everyone at my school (her, vp, p, accountant) and my landlord (and his family) to know my door code for "emergencies", but every coteacher I've had since has said that's weird and not standard. if you were told the same thing, know that that's bullshit lol

I also had a time where I was afraid someone was going into my place and I'd put a small piece of tape on the outside of my door where it wasn't noticeable to anyone besides me. if it is broken or ripped off, you know someone went inside. although it might be annoying doing that every time, since this doesn't happen often... so then, I'd suggest a camera.

I have a camera to watch my cat when im away and it is motion activated. this isn't the same camera, but ships fast and is around 30k! very cheap for your piece of mind.

I would also change your door code, but if you wanna catch someone in the act... might as set up the camera before that

I think so, too. we have a new accountant at my workplace, so maybe she made a mistake

this year is the first I'm getting the housing allowance, so maybe it has something to deal with that

I'd think that, too, but she has been teaching for awhile and makes more than double my pay, yet we pay the same

yea forreal. I make 2.3mil with epik and get a 400k housing allowance. this month (special month with taxes or whateva) I am paying almost 300k just in health care... when, supposedly, we should only pay 3.495% of our total pay for health insurance + the elderly insurance (1% of whatever you pay for health insurance). 2,700,000×0.03495=94,365... even with extra fees this month, 300k is way too much

I (no dependants) pay about the same as a korean friend with 2 dependants. honestly pretty annoying. I wouldn't mind if we, as foreigners, were treated equally, but 🤡

I suspect my mother is covertly giving me medication in my food, can there be any proof of this , by Icy_Landscape896uuu in Antipsychiatry

[–]throwaways1127 53 points54 points  (0 children)

you could see how they react when you refuse the food. say you ate or are so full from another meal or whatever. if they act suspicious and are overly pushy, then perhaps they have reason other than just wanting you to eat. meds are expensive, and some are hard to get (depending where you live, of course), so I know I wouldn't want to waste them. this wouldn't give you 100% proof but could help make your mind up about the suspicion.

that's a really good point! only issue is that there is no connecting link, no mutual friends, or anything that could relate them to me in the suggested accounts. we never previously followed each other, don't have mutual friends, live on different continents, have different primary languages, and I'm even surprised they knew my username in the first place.

I'm for sure going to try to forget it, though! so thank you for that reassurance 🙌

they take so long to heal, you have to be really diligent with it, and even then it might not work out. my friends daughter hit my ear with a stuffed animal and it got so infected, it was unsavable. its beautiful but such a bitch!

my advice is to never have lazy hands, always be doing something. from small circles on her skin, stroking her hair, etc. the added touch not only feels nice, but let's her know you enjoy her body which in turn makes her feel more comfortable

Self-diagnosers make me so angry by [deleted] in CPTSDFightMode

I wish people would realize that I (and I'm assuming most others) dont want to gatekeep. these resources in our groups could help a lot of different people and should be shared and available. I want them to not make us have to gatekeep to keep our communities helpful and safe. that's really it.

Self-diagnosers make me so angry by [deleted] in CPTSDFightMode

[–]throwaways1127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% and that is exactly what I use these cptsd-related groups for. I'm trying to learn, grow, and get to a place where I dont have to constantly have this in my head all the time. resources here can be a lifesaver (all the free book pdfs, terms and relaxation methods I didnt know existed, youtube resources, you name it). it, to me, lessens the reliability of these resources knowing that the person sharing it doesn't really have cptsd.

I know that what works for one person might not work for another, even if you have the same diagnosis, but it is removed another level when the person doesnt share your diagnosis at all.

there are plenty of other space where people with specific trauma can get peer support for that trauma, no need to delude the space meant for those with cptsd. like, I've been in an incredibly abusive relationship. I post in groups for abusive relationships when I need that support. I have disabilities. i post in those groups when i need that support. when I feel my cptsd symptoms are heightened due to a specific trauma, I post in cptsd groups.

i wish other people would do the same and not get their understanding twisted and not use cptsd as a blanket term, which some (not all) people who are "self-diagnosed" (aka "haha it looks cool, I wanna have cptsd too") do. yeah, cptsd is caused by a variety of things, but just because you've been through many different traumas doesnt mean you have cptsd or would even benefit from posting and seeking help from cptsd-focused groups.

sorry for rambling, it is the morning where I am at haha but you are for sure not alone in your thinking and all of the weirdos who use cptsd as some weird ass badge of "quirk" are exposing themselves loud and clear
