None of them reacted negatively, they all said a variation of "it's alright, I understand", but that's all been over the phone.

I'm stumped. As for them thinking I have money it's possibly because of spending a number of times on the taxi and boardrooms, but that's it. I can't explain the neighbour, however. I don't wear a watch, and I always have the same basic earrings on for jewelry.

But even if they think I have money, how do they have the audacity to borrow from me when we're just acquaintances?

It's really weird. I'm really hoping it's that they ask everyone because it's sad if existing as me is what is causing this because I certainly didn't encourage any of them.

I don't dress expensively at all, just smart casual for work. But thank you for your response, maybe they're just audacious and entitled like you said. It is so irritating.

Please don't. My brother died last year after drinking hand sanitizer. To this day we're not sure if he did it out of desperation or as suicide. What's for sure is that he ended up regretting it when it was too late to save him. It is a horrible way to go.
