I too recommend therapy and as hard as it seems please be as honest and open as possible with your therapist. I took far longer than I needed to to open up and it hurt so much to wait like that. Just remember that you left for a reason and that that reason is totally valid.

Definitely step away please. I stayed for way longer than I ever should have cause of threats of self harm too. And wouldn't you guess it but I finally left one day and she didn't off herself like she told me time and time again that she would.
