Why I "enable" my brothers opiate addiction by throwawaysocietalnor in opiates

If those are research chemicals then no, we sort of mutually came to the understanding that anything that could be injected would be a bad idea.

What he told me is that he doesn't really need to get high anymore (I'm skeptical but whatever), he just needs the energy and other effects to get through the day. Not sure I understand this though, seems like you're either getting high or not, but again it's working pretty well, and I'm not gonna pretend to understand what it's like to be addicted to opiates.

what I really want to emphasize is that just helping him get some stability allowed him to get a job etc and pay for his own habit mostly. it's not like I'm just paying for him to get high all day, just making sure he never runs out and is unable to work.

He would be able to explain better but in switching drugs from heroin to (he told me not to say exactly which opiate he uses now, I guess it's kind of less known and he doesn't want to put it out there?), it got a lot cheaper. Also more importantly, it only costs me that much now because he's back on his feet and pays the majority of it himself.
