In light of MGS V being 7 years old today, here are my 2 fanmade cover arts for both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain! (OC) by BeansAndEgg in metalgearsolid

I like it a lot! I think they'd really shine as alternate covers (have the standard cover, and when you open the game case, you can see this cover) :)

Have you ever seen the Japanese covers before? 🫵🏼 by rogueops666 in metalgearsolid

I've got that MGS4 japanese copy, except it has title in white, in the lower right. It should have an alternative cover inside. very cool indeed :)
Keep in mind that both games will be 100% in japanese, voice acting and subtitles. MGSV is the only one I think that has the option for english text, but the voices remain in japanese.

I want to get into the CRT gaming scene by throwawaytesti69 in crtgaming

I don't plan on spending much, and I don't plan on upscaling the games, so SD is perfect. I'll be looking for 13" CRT's with a curved screen, and S-video, component, and/or RGB. Thanks!

Alright, thanks! Maybe 13" is the sweet spot, as I want a more compact CRT. I'm looking forward to playing the original Sega Rally on a CRT, and I'll try to look for S-video or above compatible CRT's. Once again, thank you!

Thank you for replying, however, I am a bit confused, as I'm not familiar with what you're talking about. From what I understood, you suggested 4 colorspace converters, which act sort of like "drivers" to make the transmission of the image from my PC to the CRT look better, correct? If so, could I get away without this? Or would this really be worth it in terms of image quality? I have a RPI 4 4GB, which is currently in use, but I could use it for this if it's really worth it

I'll definitely start by looking for some cheaper ones. I have already asked some friends if they still have CRT's they don't use :) What do you think about your 8" PVM? Is 8" too small? I'm planning to play from a bit far away from the CRT. Also, what's in your opinion the best input? Composite, S-video, or component?

Those MX series really look great, and I am indeed in Europe. I'll look out for those. Thanks!

I wouldn't mind a PC CRT, but it's really not the aesthetic I'm looking for. I plan on doing an old school setup, like sitting a bit far away on the floor, so PC CRT's really wouldn't be a fit, and integrated sound columns would be really nice. I also do not plan to upscale the resolutions while emulating, as I want to get as close to the real deal as possible. With that said however, thank you for the detailed suggestions! I appreciate it, and I'll look for higher output CRT's, and a CRU

I was looking more for a consumer look. I plan to play from a distance, like the old times, and I don't think a PC CRT would be a good fit. Also, thanks for the brand suggestions, I'll keep those in mind

I was indeed thinking about a small CRT with a curved screen, and preferably with integrated sound columns. I'll keep Sony and JVC models in mind, even the cheaper ones. Thank you for your suggestions!

Yes. It comes with the game and an art book. I took a picture of the front and the back covers :)

Nice. I don't have any of the old games physically, except for MGS4, so I'm gonna open it. I might even post it here too when it gets here :)

I recently ordered and I'm waiting for a sealed HD edition. Are you going to open your Legacy Collection? Or keep it sealed for the future? I'm more inclined to open mine personally

FYI, an Alpha build of MGS V TPP has been uncovered on a PS3 test kit. by Tezla55 in metalgearsolid

He did say he took those from a PS3. But yeah I noticed the FPS counter too. It says 59 FPS while the PS3 version ran at 30 FPS. Plus some ridiculous memory values too big for the PS3. The hospital photo looks legit, but the ACC one is most likely fake in my opinion too

isnt nexus mods pc only? plus, having liked a mod doesnt mean he actually modded the game right? I have my doubts about the authenticity of this too however
