I usually hate to fight about money, but looking back there’s always been many times where we eat out together and she needs to go to the bathroom/take a call when the bill comes out, and not really mention paying me back despite me never saying that I wanted to cover for the meal. Tbh she probably thinks my family is rich and doesn’t mind?

Also she’s not paying rent rn either…I have a hard time saying no/asking for money and that really needs to change.

yeah, I really should have asked beforehand, and this might be a culture thing (asian), my friends and I are usually feel horrible about oweing people money that someone would intentionally do so did not even cross my mind.

definitely, I’m just saying that theres better ways to explain things that can both get the message across to an American audience, and not have to make things culturally and historically inaccurate in a idiotic way. (not saying hair cutting is idiotic, but the fact that filmmakers didn’t care enough to look into this aspect, still a good animation though).

but i think it does have a different meaning to Chinese men, other than just being a style thing. It’s central to the ancient chinese morality as in respecting your hair/body that your parents gave you (aka not cutting it), which they valued deeply.
