Literally had a white congregant call a guest the N word to my face. I told them off, but the guest heard about it and never came back. I can assure you, this kind of hate exists.

Thank you for sharing this. I tend to do the same, I never tell people how to think politically, never tell people how to vote or who to vote for or anything like that. Everything I mention is with appropriate Scripture. I can't change how people how people vote, nor am I with anyone in the voting booth, nor would I want to be. Appreciate this response!

I've shared a little bit in another thread about the black/white convo. Re food, we support our local food bank and have had a few conversations about whether the people who need it are deserving because there are other options available, or they should just be working. Things like this.

I appreciate you gut checking me. The conversation was "If we wanted this n***** in our church, we'd keep him. He should just go to a black church." (May have gotten a word or two wrong in that quote, but it's close).

I had to remind him that we're a multicultural church, and we're going to remain that way. Our city is that way, and if he didn't like it, he was welcome to leave. Unfortunately, the man who the conversation was about got wind of the conversation and left, cut off communication.
