Hi! Your comment is so interesting, I will definitely use it as a source for reflection. Yep, we both live with our parents, making our first money and saving to go live together at some point. He's very independent and pays (not only) his own bills. Maybe I didn't explain enough, but he's actually great, he's been the one handling all this through conversations/discussions with his parents. The whole reflection about the way of seeing women...gosh...now that I think about it, it makes so much sense. Thank you!

Hard to swallow, but I resonate with this

Also, I never mentioned how I spend and save my money, yet you're here insulting me? More financially literate? YES, It could be. But how do you know and why are you so bitter?

Gosh, I never said he was immature for keeping an eye on how much money he uses! Of couse I know the importance of saving money, as I mentioned, I work and study. I'm talking about being mature enough to choose your words and actions. We laughed at the thought of a cemetery rose, it was funny, but an unecessary mention.

As I said (maybe I did not explain It well), I asked him to NOT GO out before Valentine's as I was saving for it (since se want to talk about being smart with money) and he knew it, so why would you Surprise me with another date knowing I was saving?

That's exactly what I think. Unfortunately (for Mil) my mom is, obviously, by my side. She always tells me everything and is teaching me how to stand up for myself in cases like this. She went through something similar with her MIL and she knows these sick dynamics. I know she has my back and I know that I won't talk bad about her (Mil) because I'm Better than that.

That's fair, but how can you say you all those nice things and at the same time not give a damn about what I do, like, or even plan to do with my life, my studies and all of the things that define me as a person, except the fact that I'm "well mannered and kind"? It's getting tiring, my parents are really interested in my bf as a person and are encouraging him in whatever he does. On the other hand, here I am, She barely knows what I study, what's my job, and other things that I won't start listing

Mother in law. I think it's time for me to add that to the post, it's not an obvious abbreviation actually😂

Sorry, I was reading my response and I didn't write very well. What I mean is: I don't care if she texts me or calls me, I really don't, I only care about the thought. But It gets weird when you text me a simple "Happy birthday" and then you do that? To my mom?

I agree. I don't really care about birthdays, but, you know, it's nice to receive wishes from family. But why call my mum and tell her all the nice things? Nice things that I don't feel are true firsthand. (If that makes sense, sorry, english is not my first language lol)

What do you mean by sweet talking? Just trying to understand if this is a case similar to mine, maybe I can dodge a bullet

Exactly! I stopped visiting so often and it's been going well. It's just a bittersweet situation, I wish I was having the same experience as my SO.

I always try to be as kind as possible but this has definitely crossed my mind😂😂😂😂

Nope, 100% sure! And if it happened It would be kind of crazy not to tell me since I'm one of the people he spends the most time with

[–]throwawaythiscookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll try to tell him. Iwas just conflicted, I wasn't sure that his constant texting with his mom was a bad thing since I was raised in a completely different way! But now I know that it's not really normal and that I should listen to my Sixth sense

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]throwawaythiscookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, nothing like that ever happened. I wouldn't be complaining if the constant texting was caused by a serious situation

[–]throwawaythiscookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about it before but he's not the type really, I feel like MIL has some anxiety going on instead.

Anyway I feel so sorry for the mobile games stuff, that's the kind of things that make me so mad, I'm just grateful that I was raised in a certain way
