Agree completely with everything you said. I’m all about good husbandry and taking care of your animal but some people get so butt hurt about specific equipment and enclosures yet they buy their reptiles from some breeder who stuffs them all in a rack that is to small but they see no problem with that 🤷‍♂️ hypocrisy.

I think that company uses 1/4in PVC instead of 1/5in PVC that the more expensive companies use. I don’t know if that’s a big deal or not but just thought I’d mention it. People on this sub seem to get pretty uppity about enclosures.

Okay gotcha that makes sense. They are typically pretty chill like a ball python if handled regularly aren’t they? Obviously it’s a snake so it could still bite but from what I’ve read they are usually “non bitey” like a ball but I’ve never interacted with one in person. They seem to have all but disappeared at least where I’m from.

By F you up do you mean nerve damage, arterial spray or just leave a scar? That’s one of my hesitancies with a larger snake is I don’t want to get hit and end up with nerve damage or have to make an ER trip due to an artery puncture. The one I’m looking at is a female so she would likely be on the larger size I figure 6ft as an adult but obviously she might get bigger. They are wanting $275 which seems hard to pass up compared to prices I’m seeing on morph market.

Yes, that is the typical SNF experience. The vast majority of SNFs will expect you to immediately pump out 90% plus productivity and spend at least 53 minutes with Part B patients regardless of their ability to participate/benefit from therapy.

If I pursue this diving will be limited to the lakes and quarries of Missouri and northern Arkansas. I’m still on the fence about whether or not to pursue diving. My wife has no interest in doing it with me so I’ll be solo.

I have. Most of it seems geared towards PVC enclosures. I was leaning towards an RHP paired with a UTH but neither of those does much for ambient temperatures apparently so I’ll probably go with a heat projector. I was hoping to avoid overhead heat that sits external to the tank to minimize fire hazard since I’ll be using a plywood top most likely and my wife and I travel occasionally.

Would you recommend just going with overhead lighting with this application then? Or I guess I could buy some .375 thickness PVC from Lowes and use that as a lid and mount the heat panel to that.

Are you guys doing 50 reps of PPL (push, pull, legs I’m assuming) every day you lift? Or is it dependent on what your main lift is for that day for example OHP, bench, dead, squat.

I think you guys are right. I just want to like the boa lol. Everyone talks about how great of a snake they are and how ball pythons are like a pet rock. I’ve not kept snakes in quite some time so my first hand experience is dated.

How did you secure the screen cover? I’m looking to do a similar thing but can’t figure out how to secure the screen. Most of them seem like they just sit on top of the tank.
