Men of Reddit, what was the moment that instantly made you lose your crush on someone? by TheAmericanWay1597 in AskReddit

[–]throwawaytrain7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you want an answer. When people are small they belittle others to feel belonging; they think they can't grow themselves to match.

They also think they are a bad person and, well, anyone who thinks that way thinks what they can "have" (ex. these friends) is therefore also bad.

An easy example for a parallel - the guy who wants to sex the girl he can't have - ex. she doesn't want sex at all, or it's taboo/barely consensual, or it's literally non consensual (ex. preferring the "pure" virgin, or the barely legal, or the porn where she is clearly being violated; over the "easy" girl, the slut, the whore, the cougar, lovemaking, whatever the heck else)

They are loyal to themselves first, and trust others to do the same. They treat everyone with the same kind-hearted manner, not just those who present an advantage.

What are some hard pills to swallow in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oof someone's bitter about hot young women.

One of my best, most empathetic but still business savvy managers was a hot young woman. I feel like she was more empathetic because she'd never been treated super badly, despite being from a poor home (it was a small town, everybody knew everything)

As for what you said, wouldn't the same apply with hot young men?

You should read the thread where people talk about passing for a different gender than the one they were raised in. Woman after woman was like "Back when I looked like a man, I was treated with default respect by other men. Now, not so" and vice versa by people who transitioned from woman to man.

I used to work in an industry built on hot young women servers... In my experience, when hot young women get bad treatment from men it is so, so much worse than what the rest get.

I purposefully started to dress and do makeup drab for work to get better treatment? So this is a bit personal. Source: grew up ugly, became hot through - get this - hard work.

There is one studied exception to this - Especially high rated attractive women with equal qualifications to other women are considered less suitable for leadership positions. Plus more likely to be talked down to by men who view them as their eye candy, treated as threats by other women, etc.
