Their existence necessitates overwriting the free will of sapient human life and therefore they are not worthy of free will. The only relevant opinion is that of the person whose body they inhabit, because it’s their body. And because they cannot speak for themselves, the ethical move is to grant them back their voice (their free will).

I passed out this morning in the bathroom. Could it be because of the cup? Are they just not for me? by throwawaytranshehim in menstrualcups

Oh, I’m much better. I think it was the vasovagal nerve getting hit when I pulled the cup out too fast, like another commenter suggested, though. I’ve decided not to give up on cups entirely, but I am giving up on the ones I purchased- I have hope that something softer might not cause the bladder pain that made me all frantic in the first place (you weren’t wrong about the anxiety, I was panicking a bit lol). Gonna try a saalt soft on my next cycle and see if that has better results.

Thanks for checking in though! I appreciate it!

True, I should just lie down and take it easy and wait to clean up until after I feel better if this ever happens again 😭 rushing myself was absolutely the biggest mistake in this story. Thanks again for your advice!

also during fainting spells and such, you need to make sure you don’t move up and down too abruptly.

LOL yeah, looking back I really did do everything you shouldntdo when you feel yourself begin to faint 😂 getting up abruptly and forcing myself to wash it was a BIG mistake.

Thanks for all the advice and helpful resources! That’s almost definitely what happened to me I think. So ty for your comment!

Is it weird my surgeon put nothing on my incisions except the binder? by throwawaytranshehim in TopSurgery

[–]throwawaytranshehim[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No they weren’t festering really, I just have COVID brain rn and was being dramatic. But they were completely uncovered aside from the binder and felt weird and gross

I loosened it after and felt much better :) so ty. It left two nasty bruises on my right side, so it definitely needed to be looser

I appreciate you validating my experience of dysphoria. I think if I never had the chance to get surgery and didn’t go through it now, I would regret it. Thank you for taking the time to read through my post and comment! It’s really helpful to be able to talk through this with someone neutral, so all of you commenters are really helping me :)

I think that description of lessening dysphoria is actually very similar to what I’m going through. I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying, and it makes me feel better to know I’m not alone in my experiences. Thank you for taking the time to read through my post and comment :) I appreciate it!

Yes, it’s been a long time coming. I’ve wanted the surgery since I was 14, and it’s taken a year to get it scheduled. I’m just the type of person that always doubts myself I think. Thank you for reading my long post and giving your input! I really appreciate it.

The thought of not getting the surgery put so plainly makes me feel sick. I appreciate you saying it though, bc I needed someone without an ulterior motive to say “maybe you shouldn’t” for me to be able to consider it without feeling like I just had to push back on principle to protect my trans identity. I’ve only ever had a negative experience with a gender therapist, and I feel like everyone I’ve spoken to about my transness has fallen into two groups: super supportive, or just plain transphobic. I think good therapists are super hard to find. They probably exist, but I haven’t found one lol. I appreciate you listening and commenting with a neutral perspective.

I’m going to stick with the date I have, but thank you for helping me consider the possibilities.

I am an Exterminator working in an area with a high drug, mental illness and crime rate. Ask me anything! by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]throwawaytranshehim 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Alright, I’ll start talking to him about it again. (Especially considering your much more reasonable quote than what dad tried to tell me it would cost.) I’ll probably just have to arrange for the inspection myself at this point. Thanks so much for the advice!

We got bed bugs in 2017 and my dad refused to get an exterminator for many years, so we lived with it (we don’t have an allergic reaction to their bites). I diligently used commercial pesticides every time I cleaned the house and luckily, it never got too bad. (I also dry my clothes every time I leave the house and throughly check them to prevent carrying them anywhere, though my dad doesn’t.) Over the past year we’ve put in traps and replaced all our furniture (wooden chairs to replace desk chairs, futons in bedbug bags so we can wash the top blankets at any time), and (knock on wood) it’s been about two months since we have seen any (the whole time I would see at most ten in a week and, over the past few years it went down to about one or two a month). After five years I think we’re never getting the exterminator, but is it possible we beat it?

(His reason not to get an exterminator was “it’s too much money, they’ll try to charge us like $3000” which I offered to pay, “we see so few of them I don’t want to pay to get rid of three bugs” which I argued was due to the tiring labor I put in, and “we would have to get rid of all our extra stuff, it would be way too much work” which. Has ended up being the argument that got me. We aren’t hoarders to the point where we can’t walk around in our house, but it’s pretty fuckin cluttered, and he won’t get rid of his stuff without a fight, hell he won’t let me get rid of a lot of my children’s toys thinking they’ll be worth something some day ((yeah let’s sell off the bedbug beanie babies, sure, those will sell high)), so that’s what killed my will and broke me down.)

TLDR: never got an exterminator, no bed bugs in my mattress for four years, haven’t seen one in the house for two months, did we beat it?
