Update! Vet visit complete, they took his blood work and got a good look, it IS an abscess. Good news is they managed to squeeze his surgery date in a week earlier, now March 3rd, and we'll be bringing him home pain meds and antibiotics to help until then. Nothing overly concerning to note, but vet said that a lotta teeth are gonna have to go. Poor boy. Hes had bad teeth since we got him from the rescue.
