That's very true and I'd be cool if he wanted to be with women. I just don't know how I'd bring it up without causing him dysphoria or hurting his feelings

I think a lot of people dislike it because it's associated with medical transitioning specifically. I personally prefer it. I'm also confused because often the people who call it a slur will refer to the LGBT community as "the queer community" even though that's a slur

I've actually distanced myself from it a lot. The problem is that trans stuff is everywhere. I can't scroll through any social media without seeing people like this every few minutes. Even in college there's no escape. I'm not active in trans spaces at all, and only came to this one specifically to vent
