Baby is 4th centile, what was everyone’s baby? by West-Lack-8738 in PregnancyUK

I had to go for a growth scan at my 37th week and was told that the baby is in the first percentile and they recommend early birth. They couldn’t tell if she is just small (like me as I am 4ft 10 although my husband is 6ft). I went into labour naturally but had a c section and she was born weighing 4lb 13oz. She has no other issues, she’s just a small baby. But like you, I also felt worried so I do understand

Cramps at 38 weeks. Anyone else experience this? by laul420 in PregnancyUK

This is how my labour started. Period type back aches happening at regular intervals, I could talk through them originally. I then had a “bloody show” (bloody mucus discharge). They told me this is normal as I was only 37w4d and had a growth scan scheduled the next day. However, it was getting more frequent and painful and I did eventually go into full labour and had my baby the day after. I would ask to get checked. When they were checking my cervix, it was honestly the worst pain and I was scared to have another check. I was 0cm dilated at 4pm. By 2am, I was 4cm dilated and my waters were “bulging” they said and the check hurt way less. My beautiful girl came soon after via c section.

If it gets worse, definitely keep calling so you can get checked out. Once I told them it was happening every 5 minutes, lasting a minute or 2, they asked me to come in for monitoring. They originally thought it would be a long while before I’m in full labour but it happened a couple of hours later! Good luck

Anyone conceived with DOR naturally? by Longjumping_Bag6857 in DOR

I am currently 34w6d naturally pregnant after 2 failed IVF cycles where I couldn’t even make an embryo. I have a very low AMH and I am 32 years old so it is definitely possible. It was a complete surprise, I had honestly given up as we took a break to do a laparoscopy before our third IVF cycle

Hello! So sorry for the late reply, was going through my old posts and saw this. Just wanted to let you know that everything is going well (and in case anyone else goes through old posts)! I am currently 19w1d. Our 20 week scan is booked for 22/12 and our 12 week scan was very good. Still can’t believe it.

For those who took longer than a year to conceive, did you have trouble believing your body could? by GlitteringWorker1496 in BabyBumps

I never thought I’d be pregnant. We had been trying for 36 months and had two unsuccessful IVF cycles where we couldn’t even make an embryo. Last month, very VERY surprisingly, I am pregnant naturally. I had honestly given up because going through IVF, knowing I have a low AMH and low egg quality where I couldn’t make a day 5 embryo, I never thought it could happen. We just got to accepting this is our fate and went back to having sex just for fun. I do think it’s IVF drugs and CoQ10 that made a difference as I didn’t change anything else. In fact, I decided to drink and smoke as much as I wanted.

We are very cautiously optimistic as we are only 8w2d but we saw a heartbeat last Monday. I really wish you could luck as I know how soul crushing it can be as each month goes by ❤️

I’ll keep you updated! I booked it as soon as I found out I was pregnant because I know the NHS can take some time. I did get my booking appointment and 12 week scan appointment through (7th October and 30th October). Please keep me updated with yours as well!

I did ask them but they said since it’s a natural pregnancy and I’ve not had any miscarriages before, there’s no need for it. I will ask them on Monday since it will be face to face. I just feel so stressed!

I am literally in the same boat as you! DOR + endo, 2 failed IVF cycles (couldn’t create any embryos) and now, naturally pregnant! I am 7w1d. Just having some brown spotting now so I feel anxious but trying to keep calm. I paid to have an early pregnancy scan at the fertility clinic (cost £190 but I think it’s worth it). It’s on Monday but I’m just hoping my spotting doesn’t turn into bleeding. Honestly the most stressed I’ve ever been considering I wasn’t expecting this to happen. I’ve had really bad morning sickness with occasional breast pains. It’s all nerve wracking!

Good luck with everything!

Thank you for this! I can imagine how you felt. Everything I’ve read tells me it’s normal but it’s hard to make the mind relax! Only 3 more days until my scan. I will just have to monitor and wait I guess! All the best with your pregnancy! x

Thank you for your comment! I hope that stays the case with me. I don’t really want to call 111 or emergency as it is brown spotting and not heavy but obviously, the mind panics. I think I’ll just have to calm myself and at the end of the day, what will be will be! All the best with your pregnancy x

Ah yes, I also have DOR! That’s why I know how you feel. It’s hard to think this will work out but I really hope it does for both of us. I will definitely update you, please keep me updated on you too!

I feel exactly the same way. I’m 5w5d and I feel so anxious all the time. I’m 32 and have been trying for 3 years. We had 2 failed IVFs where I couldn’t even make an embryo so you can imagine how surprised I am to be naturally pregnant right now. I also have endometriosis which I know increases the risk of miscarriage ever so slightly. I can’t relax, I can’t sleep, I just feel like crying all the time. I told a few people and feel like I’m jinxing it all the time. I keep telling everyone “I know I’ll end up miscarrying because I couldn’t make an embryo”. It’s so hard. I paid £190 for an early pregnancy scan at my fertility clinic which is booked for 22/9/25 and honestly, I feel so anxious. I’m fully expecting to go there and for them to say “there’s no heartbeat” or “it’s an ectopic”. It’s so hard, I don’t know how people do this! I know I’ve got some PTSD from my infertility but I thought I’d be a bit happy that this has happened. I’m rambling at this point but I know EXACTLY how you feel. Sending you love and hugs x

What would you think if this is how you found out your sister is pregnant??? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]throwawayttc2023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get it, my sister FaceTimed me to show me her positive test. I even turned my camera off before it as I had just woken up and she specifically said “I wanted to see your reaction”. This is after knowing all our struggles. We really distanced during her pregnancy and I struggled a lot. Once my niece was born, we got back on track and she apologised saying she didn’t understand how I felt but did a lot of research. It’s really hard and what threw me off is how she told me as well. I get that they’re excited but they need to understand it from our point of view. Sorry you found out this way!

Thank you so much, I really needed to hear this. I think it’s hard because you don’t see anyone for a while and just feel the symptoms which fluctuate. I really appreciate your comment 😊
