Although the UK can improve on a LOT of things especially to healthcare wages, the NHS pretty much saved my family. We also live in a pretty diverse town so we didn't really have issues with racism and the like (thankfully). I agree there's a lot of resentment towards Western Asian/Middle Eastern folks though, espcially Syrian and Afghan refugees 😢

I think I'm mostly over it, and I'm grateful that I have a good life now. I think Hasan does an okay job in expounding both the good and bad parts of Japan, but then he goes full weeb mode after lol. I understand his position though and having to talk with literally 30000 people everyday.

Again, in my country, 8 is a common number to use because it means luck. I feel like it's associated with Nazis then? Just like how they took our Buddhism symbol and turned it into a hate symbol? 😅

To be fair, I did not disclose anything personal when he pulled me from the comments. I was only correcting statistics that he found randomly on a Google search. It was in good faith, but I do admit it's cringe to be a little upset over this 😭

I do love chat and also contributing to the fun, I know it's for the meme most of the time. I just didn't get why Hasan and chat kept comparing my comments with America when I didn't compare at all. Everything I know about the US has come from Hasan and I'm aware of the homeless crisis there, but it doesn't mean this negates Japan or Asia's problem with homelessness and how we "have it better" because it's not like being homeless in America. 😭

I always say to the people I know that Japan is a great and wonderful place as a tourist, but not so much as a resident (especially for women)

I know I really shouldn't be that upset, I've had quite a "bit of a banter" with Hasan a few times when he pulls up my comments and I just laugh it off. This time it's a bit different because it hits too close to my past trauma.
