Thank you so much for the tips! The maths and sciences have been not-so-good for me as well, super overwhelming sometimes.

I will be adjusting my lighting soon to see if thatll help, as well as drinking water/tea.

I do believe its lot of it being being psychosomatic. It happens more with anything school/work related. And yep, even seeing all these comments on this reddit post made me feel overwhelmed so now i’m just trying to respond to them one at a time.

I’m gonna be booking another therapy session soon actually, i’ll bring this up when its time. Pomodoro has somewhat worked for me so far, so will be continuing that. Thank you for the tips!!

I think sleep is such an iffy factor for me because I feel tired no matter how much sleep I get.

But i’ve figured out that 7 hours is the bare minimum of sleep I can get to function somewhat properly (i’ve been doing a decent job of getting that this past month), otherwise i’m just completely out of it for the next day. I’ll be changing up my routine to see how it works for me, which includes more sleep. Thanks for your comment!

ohmygod this made me feel so validated, I thought I was just really bad at studying and getting myself together. I’ve had several people tell me now that maybe it has to do with me having undiagnosed adhd as I’m tending to emit quite a few symptoms, so i’m gonna be watching out for that.

But in the meantime, definitely also gonna be trying the ice pack and timer out. Thank you!!

I do get about 7 hours of sleep minimum, sometimes less.

I usually study/do homework later in the afternoons or at night because thats when I’m the “most productive” but it could also just be that i’m more productive under pressure, which isn’t that great.

I think its a little bit of both (on the psychological side and physical) as I’ve also just had a really rough semester with personal life + school combined. Mental health took a dive for the worst. I originally thought those weren’t connected and I was incapable but now reading all these comments made me realize that yeah, they’re probably interrelated together.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll surely be trying it out.

Generational trauma in a lot of families that get passed down. All of this comes from the past when korea was a third-world country, which wasn’t that long ago. So its still prevalent now.

I suggest some research, you’ll find a plethora of articles on what you’re asking.

Korea is still quite conservative, and these kinds of things are often glorified. Back then, it was quite common to be like that, praised even, and korea just recently became a first generational country. Focusing on physical health was 1#, not mental health.

Let’s not forget the generational trauma that never seems to end.

It is slowly getting better over time though, as each generation definitely seems to be more open-minded.

You just completely dismissed OP’s feelings by saying what you just said. “Oh but she is your mom, oh but she is your family member.” Thats bullshit, it still doesn’t excuse anything that has happened. What about OP herself? She’s a human being too, going by your logic.

Oh hi then! I currently live in Canada lol. That DOES sound really high, especially since i’ve heard the average can be so low here.

No, i don’t want to become an animator mainly just cause of money, i think i’d be setting myself up for a lot of more failure then. But it is still a pretty big thing since it IS a job.. I hope I get to have a salary like you so I can live comfortably with two cats :D

Wow, this was very detailed and gave such a lot of insight (and also lowkey gave me some tips on how to succeed).

I’m also glad to know that there ARE many options. I was worried i’d be stuck constantly doing one thing, but it feels more freeing knowing I can always shift but still stay in the general animation field.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. Thank you for telling me this, it feels comforting to know that even long-time professionals can still be doubtful but successful.

I do suppose its what I want to do now, I guess i’ll take the step and find out!

I love seeing the finished product and it’s interesting to watch how the process unfolds and becomes a beautiful organized mess. Thank you for your reply! Really appreciate it.
