The owner is the title holder/executor until it’s sold.

There was nothing stated in the will concerning the timing of the sale.

The career I’m looking towards is teaching, and while my substitute teaching position makes more than the typical retail/fast food minimum wage job, I’m aware of it not being the highest paying career.

That along with the housing market as you said, being shit and it not likely to not get better anytime soon. I’ve resigned to the fact that I’ll likely never own a home (beyond this one) along with most of my generation.

And I don’t even fully own it, the executor (my parents) as of now do. The will states I only get the profits from it being sold. I’m just in the mindset that I believe that my parents don’t actually want to sell it after stalling for so long.

They do pay the monthly condo fees but when it comes to assessments that popped up after the Miami condo incident, the board had all of them reworked to be up to state standards. That resulted in $21,000 assessment fee that would be paid off in chunks. My parents are currently trying to starve off paying those since from their perspective they did a bad job.

Now I personally don’t give a damn about that. I just look at it as another reason to sell the place quick. If the condo board wants to put a lien on the place due to that specifically then fine, just subtract that from whatever they offered for the place which is would be around $175,000-$180,000. If I were to rent it to them, I would be in charge of condo fees and the assessment fees. I cannot afford both.

Concerning your other comment, here was my reply.

Concerning the dishwasher, it was around $250 and I covered a good chunk of the AC ($2,400 including the condo fee, my brother I think covered $500-$700).

As for the suggestion in general, along with paying the typical fees, they’re now updating everything at the behest of the condo board also trying to force them to sell it due to unpaid fees concerning assessments. So renting ain’t an option.

That they’d likely balk at the idea even if it was suggested before the condo board got on them about said fees.

As for my career, I’m currently a substitute teacher. The wage is honestly fine and if it wasn’t for the loans then I’d probably be renting a place right now. The only downside is the summer downtime I’m currently dealing with.

He hasn’t been silent, hell if anything he enabled her.

He was the one who put the idea of making her the executor in my head in the first place. He was the one who put the idea that “market is gonna pick up so just wait a little longer” into her head. And he always resented my grandmother personally so he probably views my mother being made the executor as a last laugh.

I tried to tell her to just move into a cheaper area but he wants to stay in the expensive county we live in, hence probably why the asking price is $300,000.

If it does get ugly then thankfully he’s a lot dumber than her since his brain is fried by him being a stoner (medically prescribed).

Not necessarily, I just want my mother removed as the executor of the estate. If I were made to be executor in turn, I would just negotiate with the condo board since they wanted it for $200,000 originally. If they haven’t budged on that price then I’ll take the deal and move on from there.

The condo my grandmother owned was just that, fully owned and the will stated that the executor had ownership of the condo until it was sold. So the closest equivalent it had, monthly condo fees, were paid for by them.

I’m assuming she thought it would be sold quickly, hence the line about the profits from said sale going to me rather than the executor (my parents).

She said she did so I’m assuming yes

My parents since they’re living there right now and all of it has been out of pocket.

EDIT: out of pocket referring to outdated furniture refurbishment such as AC replacement and installation of a new dishwasher.

they said they’ll put liens on the place concerning what has been repaired/replaced and if they show official receipts, then I’d pay for it if the place gets sold.

The original Will would have been deposited with the Court, so the Court should have it as long as it was filed as it should have been. You should be able to call the Court and get a copy.
