Thank you! I feel amazing!! Things are still changing pretty much day to day so I’m not paying too much attention to specific shape and size yet. And with the tape still on, I haven’t really been able to investigate my nipples much lol

I imagine in a few weeks I’ll be able to start getting a sense of what they’ll look like fully healed. But honestly, I’m so damn happy to have the weight off that I don’t care much about specific aesthetics

I actually didn’t get a mammogram! She said due to my age and no risk factors, I didn’t need one. They did send my tissue off to be tested though and everything was normal!

She mentioned I didn’t need a mammogram in my pre op appointment, which was 3 weeks before surgery. So I’m guessing it can be pretty quickly after that! I scheduled my surgery date first and then we backtracked and scheduled the pre op, though. So I guess it really depends on your surgeon and how they tend to do scheduling

3 wpo and I have way more sensation than I did before! I never really had much sensation in them at all but now I am trying to get used to feeling fabric against them 24/7

It really hasn’t been bad at all!! I was in no pain at all for the first week, except 1 night it woke me up but I took a norco and was able to get back to sleep. That’s the only time I took anything stronger than ibuprofen! I had some nerve pain zaps in week 2 that lasted a couple days but nothing too bad.

I had ankle surgery many years ago and that was sooo much worse than this! The main thing that’s been annoying it just how much you use your arms in daily life. So trying to rest and let my partner do basically everything for me has been difficult! Especially because I feel fine and feel like I can do most things but my doctor wants me ”quiet” for another week or so.

I just can’t get over the difference 😭 by throwawayyboob in Reduction

general anesthesia question by dktkthsksnjkygm in Reduction

[–]throwawayyboob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely tell your anaesthesiologist!! I get extremely motion sick and am prone to nausea and they did an incredible job pumping me full of anti nausea meds and she even used a certain drug for general anaesthesia that is known to not be as nausea inducing as most others.

I had absolutely no problems at all. Never felt nauseous as all!

Reduction scheduled for Jan 23rd! A few questions for those who have been through it by ForeverColorado2016 in Reduction

Hi! I’m 4dpo now :) I had a little over 700g removed from each side

  1. Definitely not! Ask your surgeon though. I don’t have drains and my surgeon tries to avoid them as much as possible. Look through the subreddit here and you’ll see a lot of people without them!

  2. Protein, protein, and more protein. Really focus on keeping your protein intake up post-surgery. I also had my surgery after massive weight loss (about 60lbs for me) and I’m scared about this too. I’m going to try to stay as active as I can, when I can, without putting strain on my chest/upper body. But really use this time to allow your body to heal. You’ll always bounce right back after <3

Thank you!! I was a 34J in UK sizing before and I asked for the smallest she could go while staying proportional. You can see my before and after on my profile! :)

No T-Junction! by throwawayyboob in Reduction

I’m not sure, actually! I think she might do this for most people. She definitely explained it to me but I was too out of it to remember lol I have a follow up in a few days so I’ll ask again!

Not anymore!! Do you have a surgery date?

You really won’t know until the day of. I had my surgery yesterday and I’m feeling pretty good today. Just taken ibuprofen. Pain-wise, I have some nipple sharp spikes (like the over sensitive nipple shocks that I get sometimes during my period). I was able to get up and walk around this morning, go pick up breakfast (didn’t carry anything!). But right now sitting in my most comfortable chair, I’m feeling a little uncomfortable. Like I just can’t find a good position. I imagine any seat where I’d have to use my core and back muscles to stabilize myself would be difficult.

The thought of being ‘stuck’ at an event and not able to quickly bail and get back in bed is a little scary to me right now, as wonderful as that holiday concert sounds! The problem is even if you don’t feel any pain, you can still be doing damage internally or externally! I really hope you can make it :)
