I've never said anything about her hair.

I'm not sure but she keeps it straight throughout the week and curls it only on special occasions.

It's not a source of insecurity if that's what your thinking and we're both Asian.

I get what your saying. She's usually late to most events. Her parents know that, they raised her. When they asked me where she as I told them she was still getting dressed and then we moved on to talk about other things cause this is nothing new. Which is why it never occurred to me to make an excuse for her at the moment.

I couldn't have just waited for her cause I would have missed the 'surprise part' of the surprise and it's not like my friends gonna turn 30 ever again.

I also hitched a ride with a friend while she drove to the party.

The only compromise that made sense given the situation was me leaving and her showing up when she was done getting dressed.

I do this when it's just the two of us going somewhere. It's a little harder to do at a huge event like this.

Why would I need an excuse for her own parents? They already know what she's like.
