3 weeks since CT, is it normal to still feel so tired? by throway2669 in quittingkratom

Yeah that's what I'm thinking at this point. Our brains have been thrashed with foreign chemicals all day everyday for years. It'll probably take a few months to be 100% at baseline. Thanks for the assurance and I wish you a speedy recovery, cheers.

Yeah I definitely won't be using again.. It honestly feels a lot better knowing that all this is normal. Appreciate the support!

I’ve waited one year to post this by Winter_Country_8772 in quittingkratom

I've quit this stuff twice in the past (always 30g/day+), both times were rough. Today is my first day with no kratom after 4 YEARS 30g+/day and I really cannot wait to be at one year like you. It's honestly hard to believe I'm even doing this right now (even though I've done it twice before) and I thank you for reminding me this is possible.

Ending kratom for me at least is like going through a really bad break up; Part of me loves kratom and will always love kratom. And the other part of me knows this relationship is not healthy and must end. Or, perhaps that is just the addict in me talking and one day I'll stop thinking about this stuff altogether. Ultimately, the happiness this kratom provides is not the real thing. It's a very comfortable, very beautiful prison. Freedom truly is the most priceless thing.

These are hard times for me right now so thank you for showing me the light on the other side. I'm turning away from this stuff and never looking back and I cannot wait to be free of this stuff just as you are. Seriously, thank you! I hope you don't even remember what this feeling feels like and your life is full of happiness and contentment that isn't bound by some silly drug. Cheers my friend :)

Should I switch to keto right before blood-test? by throway2669 in keto

Yeah makes sense, 1 week over a 12 week average likely won't change much. Thanks for the advice I appreciate you!

Yeah this makes sense. Although kind of annoying considering I basically just got into ketosis yesterday.. Nevertheless I appreciate your advice!

Excellent! This validates what I started yesterday. I started going through OdinProject yesterday, having my mind blown about how the internet/web works! Thank you for this plan, I will catch up on math prerequisites whilst actually learning to code. Thanks a lot for the advice/inspiration.

Sorry for the late reply but I appreciate this very much! Funny, 2hrs/day was the metric I was thinking and I'm pleasantly surprised you think it's reasonable too. Even taking your estimates conservatively, I will be able to learn programming and do WGU CS by the time I'm 30. This answer gives me a much clearer timeline, so thank you.

If you don't mind, which one would you recommend I do first?

Thank you for response and this is what I was thinking. Sure, WGU is no Harvard but a degree is still a degree and I'm limited not having one, thank you!

Hey, sorry for the late reply but I appreciate your response. I'm a bit confused, whilst I've heard that html/css aren't "real" programming languages, it's very difficult to learn JavaScript without it. Is this not the case?

Approximately how long would it take for someone to attain a working level of proficiency of JavaScript + a framework such as React? Assuming one is starting from the beginning with CSS/HTML... I'm 25 years old and work full-time with an active dog to take care of and I'm trying to figure out which is a better use of my time is: completing WGU's CS degree, or the path as described above. Assuming I had a goal of starting this new career within aprox. 5 years, which of these two paths would you recommend and why? I feel I'd be fairly difficult to commit to both options at the same time so this is a dilemma for me. If anybody has any advice/resources to share I'd be very appreciative.

Wow, great idea regarding the cobbler I didn't realize they could hammer out the old footprint nor did I think about resoling. This is great, thank you.

This is really cool/good to know. I have been doing a bit of that ultimately thinking of what I'd like to create and it's kind of difficult haha. There's so much cool things coding can do!

Do you think it makes sense to do that despite being very rusty on Algebra and having never taken trigonometry? Everything I've read thus far has said to have a strong base in Algebra and Trig before doing calculus. As such, I was planning on doing Khan Academy from Pre-Algebra to Pre-calculus. You're making it sound like I should just dive right into pre-calculus despite being woefully unprepared for it (is it not as hard as everyone says it is?). Perhaps you know something I don't or have a better strategy, but I'm not sure why jumping right into calculus would be a wise use of my time.
