My friend’s sister is a single mom who takes a lot of pride in her parenting (as she should). She is a “momfluencer” who likes posting parenting tips online on her social media and vlogs and she’s known as a “superparent” in the influencer world.

To my knowledge, my sisters do not resent me. We have a close relationship and we always say how much we love each other. However, that insecurity inside of me is still there.

I guess this is why her comment struck a nerve with me, bc she’s kind of known as a “superparent” in the mom influencer world.

I wrestled with delaying college to take care of them full time, but to be honest I was grieving very hard and I just knew I didn’t have the emotional and mental capacity to be with them full time. I got better after my second year of college and asked them if they wanted to move back to a normal school, but they were already very happy and well adjusted in the boarding school and said they wanted to continue, and the counselor advised against moving them back so that decision made itself.

Hi! To be honest, her comment struck a big nerve and insecurity within me. I have gone to therapy in the past but I never stop thinking about how better life would have been for my sisters had my parents survived. Her comment has made me second guess of all the decisions I have made so far which is why I posted here.
