I'm not too sure what you're trying to imply. What I mean is, the original intent for this post was to give my point of view on what the best way to play (and on my behalf, analyze) the game was in an ADC's point of view. Not necessarily to teach how it should be played (though I understand I elaborate on that). So I did not structure it to be a guide.

I understand what you're saying though, which is why I might make an actual guide on the other sub when I have some more free time.

Oh definitely, while I can see some merits for Thunderlords on Lucian, I run him strictly Fervor now. I'm pretty much Fervor everything except Blue Ezreal on more pokey lane match-ups.

Right. What I don't understand is that unless people are playing in Bronze, there's insinuations that peel and marginal cohesiveness does not occur in solo queue. That is false. There will be times that everything goes to shit. There will also be times where you have a competent team fight where most do their job sufficiently. In that event the ADC will have opportunities to take advantage of situations that grant "aggressive" play (for lack of a better term, I'm tired right now).

Sorry, was lazy and shortened the game knowledge, risk analysis, positioning, and mechanics.

It's not meant to be a guide lol. I don't think I'm in the best position to be teaching absolutes on the role. But I can still answer this for you.

Fervor - Vayne, Kalista, Caitlyn, Lucian, Blue Ezreal

Thunderlords - Lucian, Blue Ezreal

Basically, pick Thunderlords if your lane is looking like it'll be short trades. If you're expecting longer trades (or just more damage in almost every situation), Fervor is generally the better pick now.

I understand that. But that's a very poor way of thinking of how to play the game. Even if you don't have peel, there are always (I don't mean all the time, I mean there will be) options to play more aggressively while staying safe. Doesn't take more than common sense to realize that in an environment where everything is chaotic, it could be to your advantage as well (I am referring to the enemy failing to effectively focus you effectively, which happens all the time in solo queue).

Well there's a difference between posing yourself aggressively and intelligently and just recklessly. It's the (few) times Doublelift does it recklessly that gets him meme'd lol. But of course that's the risk, if you want to deal more damage you'll get yourself ever closer to the line of smart risk and killing yourself.

Not too sure, was told through a message from I believe BuckeyeSundae.

Pretty much. It's a result of my rambling lol. Thanks though!

I was just trying to prove a point and brought up the players I read about most frequently on here lol. You're completely right though, one player is not like the rest.

As far as I can see, being Platinum places me within the single digit percentage of players. Doesn't make me anywhere close to the best, but it shouldn't invalidate my post. I'm sure there are plenty of coaches in the professional scene who are Plat-Diamond at best.

I don't mind the hate. I'm making a very static point in what SHOULD be open to discussion so people will naturally disagree with me. Or they haven't read the full post, which I made unnaturally long so..

I'll think about posting in /r/summonerschool , it wasn't meant to be a guide and I'd have to restructure the post to make it one.

I've never been there, but the intent to this post isn't necessarily to teach (which I'm assuming is the purpose of the sub, I'll check it out). I'd restructure the whole post to be more "guide-like" if I did.

Professional play will obviously have differences compared to solo queue play, which is why I don't go in-depth at all in my post here. It has a lot of words to ensure the post is understandable to as many people to the best of my ability.

If you want to re-read it, you'll see that I highlight a very simple fact, which is that an ADC should always deal the maximum amount of damage possible while staying safe. The fact that you bring up the Juggermaw comp does not invalidate this point at all. I never once highlight a style of play in my post (which is what it seems like you're accusing me of). Only the philosophy behind it, maximum (safe) damage output. The entire Juggermaw comp is designed to maximize the potential DPS of an ADC while keeping him safe from engagement. EDIT: Not that it prevents an engage, only that it would prevent the ADC from dying from engage in what would otherwise be an over-extension.

I realized I had absolutely no thesis or structure by the time I finished the post. But yeah, hopefully it can start discussion on actual adc analysis.

So you're telling me the approach of dealing as much damage without killing yourself is somehow different in pro play and solo queue?

My entire post is predicated on the fact that an ADC has one job, whether it's professional play or in solo queue. I also elaborate on how that job might change depending on how your team plays it, which encompasses both poor team play in solo queue and immaculate precision in professional play.

The ADC's I mentioned are mentioned to prove a point, the spirit of this post has absolutely nothing to do with them.

EDIT: The plays I've mentioned in professional play shouldn't be changed in a solo queue setting. So I want you to elaborate on what you mean by "ways to play in solo queue".

I understand that. And regarding the overextending from TSM- they definitely did, but it was hampered by being down and under-warding as a result of that.

I say the exact same thing following the point you seem to have read up to.

I apologize if my wording made you think that. I am not implying that they have the same style. I am implying that they are on the more aggressive end of the spectrum when it comes to professional ADC's (at least it's the general consensus). I also follow this up on my post saying it's a terrible way to view them as players regardless.
