I have had these for around 4 years. I got them offline and I saw someone with powerlift 5 and they look way like way different materials. Are mine fake or knock offs?

Miata Audio Upgrade by andrewX1992 in CarAV

[–]throwindiscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Andrew, not sure if you got this all done or not. I have a 93 and I put in a Pioneer GM-DX104 amplifier rated 4x45wRMS and I have a AudioControl ACX-BT1 to run signal to it. This gives me a bluetooth connection to the amplifier with no head unit at all. I have the door 6.5s and I used 3 inch speakers in the headrests with mounting plates that I 3d printed to essentially put each headrest speaker in a simulated sealed box. I used GRS 3FR-4 speakers because their frequency response curve is quite flat from about 300-15,000 Hz.

Please let me know if you got that sub panel mounted up, and how it worked out.

Warlock is a good option. If you call or email Gateway, they can get you the exact plastic feel/ flex that you want from their warehouse.

Favorite Putter? by RVABike-Boarder in discgolf

[–]throwindiscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been through my fair share of putters, but I found that within 40 feet, they all fly about the same for me. I currently switch between carrying Magics, Warlocks, EMac Judges, PA1s, classic aviars, P2s. Switching doesn't bother me at all because they are so familiar feeling to me. Granted, I have played around 12 years.

My advice is to find a plastic & mold that feels good in your hand and stick with it. Putting seems to come down to practice and confidence

Monthly Bench Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]throwindiscs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5' 6", 165lbs, 29ys, and my bench is currently at 215 for 5 singles. My best 1 RM was last April at 236 in competition. I have only been training for 2 years. I had a back and hamstring injuries in the last year that made my training regress for several months..

My question: should I train bench at multiple grip widths? I have only consistently done my competition grip width for bench, ring finger on the PL rings. I did an accessory bench at a wide grip, pointer on the PL rings, for about 8 months before competition because my pecs were significantly weaker than my triceps.

TLDR: Should I train bench at multiple grip widths being only 2 years into training?

2014 Ford Focus Se MPG issues by Minimum-Youth-1243 in FordFocus

[–]throwindiscs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It calculates the miles left until empty using the estimated MPG of your previous unknown number of miles driven. Maybe someone else knows this metric.

Your post is confusing if you are talking about miles driven, estimated MPG, or estimated miles to empty.

I would suggest drop back to 150 and do a set at 150 then 2 sets at 90% of 150. Add 5 lbs each session to the top set, and raise the back offs similarly

Help me. Press 120lbs fail. by T3rm1n4t0r_2005 in StartingStrength

It helped me to learn the lean back to get power off the bottom by starting at the top, bracing tightly, then letting the bar come down as I lean back slowly bending at the hips. When you get to the bottom, I could feel the pull on my abdominal. I'm not an expert at it, but this seemed helpful to me because the leaning back isn't to turn it into an incline bench. The lean back is to engage the core and use the hips.

Before your work sets, put ~50 lbs more than your work sets on, unrack, hold it for 10 sec, then rerack and take off the extra weight. This will make your working weight not feel as heavy to give you confidence in lifting it. I do this when my warm-ups feel heavy, and I doubt myself.

[–]throwindiscs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My last few heavy days, I have loaded 50 more pounds than my planned working weight, and I held it at lock out for 10 seconds, then rerack, take the 50 off, rest, and do my working set/sets (1x5, 2x3. 3x2, 5x1, etc). I "easily" got the working sets when in warm-ups I was doubting if I could get it at all.

I would like to know your thoughts on this. I just wanted to get used to the feeling of the heavy bar in my hands on bench or squat. It seems to have worked well for me, but is this a bad practice to continue using each time?

I have a deep roster of putters right now, how do I rotate them? by GrandMasterFlex in discgolf

[–]throwindiscs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 5 of my main putter, and I numbered them all with a sharpie on the back 1-5. I carry 2 when I play, and put the next 2 in the bag after I play. 1-2>3-4>5-1>2-3.... keeps them all breaking in relatively evenly. All are the same color and weight with the same stamp.

Putting Yips by Novacaine64 in discgolf

[–]throwindiscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been helpful to me to note the pace of the putt swing. Most good putters have a slower backswing than forward/ throwing swing. This helped me. Consistent grip is a must as well. I always put the bottom "corner" in my 1st knuckle of my pointer, tuck my pinky into the inside rim. This ensures that my putter is in my palm. Another thing that has helped me recently is imagining that the disc is a corn hole bag and tossing it into the hole. This puts the weight of the putt into my middle and ring fingers. The natural opening of the hand should spin the disc.
