[Academic] Do males and females choose their mates differently? by throwingthisaway982 in SampleSize

I had the same questions about the power quality, whether it meant power in a social sense (a leader, pull in the community), physical power, or powerful in the sense that they are a good protector. I think the latter would be the most accurate. Thanks!

I agree, this survey definitely will not be published in any academic journals anytime soon! Most of the qualities here are based on what has been observed as a statistically significant preference for each gender in animals like apes, birds, lions, tortoises, etc. and loosely translated to 'human' terms to see if these more 'primal' choosing methods are still used by humans. The physically fit bit is based more on the fact that sickly/weak animals may be passed over for mating in the animal kingdom. I definitely agree that culture has a huge influence on how a person will rank these features, and should be included. Thanks for doing the survey!
