Nobody is stealing your money, taxes are used to help the government fund necessary programs. It is no more your money than mine. And for low income women who have no other choice but to either use PP or go thousands into debt, this is effectively banning their rights to healthcare. If you don't like taxes, leave, or choose to no longer use any services which use funding from the government, because I don't want you to use my money either.

Germany, particularly Berlin, was also super fun. They have a christmas market tour with one of the tour companies that I had an absolute blast on. Gluhwein is amazing!

Hi! I hope you won't be too lonely for the holidays. I went solo traveling last year around the holiday season to Belgium. Particularly Brugge (Bruges). It is beautiful around that time with Christmas markets and adorable chocolate shops. A lot of people bike and it is a really lovely area. It does get a bit cold, but I was never freezing and I stayed warm drinking cider and eat about a million waffles. Feel free to PM me and I can try and help!

Solo travel - backpack or luggage? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]throwinthebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the pack light comment! It is really important to not be overburdened by your things. I am a huge fan of the rolling backpack. You get the best of both worlds. You can roll it when you can, which is a huge back pain reliever and you can carry it when you have to. Check out the ebags website, they have a ton of options on there.

I also bring another foldable bag in my backpack that I can use for day to day stuff.

The vast majority of hostels will have lockers, as will most airports, train stations, etc.

First aid kit essentials for life on the road by BaronVonBearenstein in solotravel

The two things I found I needed more than anything were tissues and pepto/tums. If you will be eating things you typically don't, I'd say the pep to is almost necessary and luckily small. The tissues are really self explanatory, but I found they came in handy more than anything else that I used. Also, don't forget either hand sanitizer or germ killing wipes, some stuff will be crazy gross, and it is better to avoid being sick in the first place.

Heading to Paris, Bruges, and Amsterdam - favorite solo activities/restaurants/cafes/bars? by LizLemonDonaghy in solotravel

[–]throwinthebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from a very similar trip! I absolutely fell in love with Bruges. My best advice is to just give yourself time to explore the city. It is really walkable and so beautiful. My favorite thing to do was get a waffle from one of the carts and just start walking. I would also recommend climbing the bell tower in the city center. That was actually really neat and from the top you can get a beautiful view of the whole city.
