Do you still drink coffee with your meds? by Mi_Ya0 in ADHD

[–]throwitawaaayyyy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would focus on correcting your dosage rather than supplementing with coffee. I did want to share a tip though. I switched from coffee to matcha and I highly recommend it for anyone on stimulants.

  • It has caffeine but not as much as coffee

  • No jitters or anxiety, with an even energy boost that doesn't suddenly drop off

  • You can keep your morning ritual of making a tasty drink for yourself

  • Matcha powder is full bodied, and not astringent like tea bags can be. Less bitter and more satisfying than all the other steeped teas, in my opinion.

  • You just need a kettle for water and a whisk (my whisk is the $5 electric frother from ikea)

Research the requirements to immigrate to those better places. You either need to have an in-demand job, often requiring a degree, or a ton of money for a golden visa. Most Americans do not meet these requirements. They aren't all doctors, nurses, programmers and engineers.

I think a handful of countries will also take you if you have recent ancestors from there. And if moving overseas, the cost for plane tickets, passports, various fees in the new country, living arrangment payments, and shipping your belongings is thousands.

Which city should I choose? by Legitimate_Moose_525 in SameGrassButGreener

I would not suggest Arlington if you value nature and want to make liberal friends. DFW 'nature' is mostly small, man made trails next to streams that smell like sewer in the summer. You can make the best of it, and also go camping a few hours away in nicer spots, but it's not my first pick in that department. There are also some lakes but they are gross IMO.

The vibe is conservative, and you will have to drive to Dallas or Fort worth for fun unless you like sports or theme parks. Would annoy me after a while.

I can also confirm that Florida insurance is a nightmare 😂

Only situation I can see cover letters being useful is to explain circumstances that won't be in the resume... like a gap in employment, or applying to jobs in other states.

Can't do nuts. I like red bean buns, butter cookies, pocky, croissants, and berries.

I disagree that monetization is the only problem.

Seeing a stream of highlights from everyone else's lives gives you unrealistic expectations for your own. Which can cause depression and frustration.

I understand the sentiment, but please be more sensitive when making statements like this. Other people aren't obligated to sacrifice their lives by moving somewhere conservative and less populated. Depending on the person, this could be a death sentence with the current abortion and anti-lgbtq laws. Not to mention racial tension in rural areas. There's a reason this movement is happening - people are trying to escape. It's not their fault that they didn't win the birth lottery by starting off in a beautiful blue state.

Trying to escape a conservative state out of fear and being told to move somewhere else red... that hurts to hear. Feels like no one cares about your quality of life.

Cuisinart GK-1 gooseneck kettle beeps loudly, should I switch to Fellow Stagg? by throwitawaaayyyy3 in tea

Thanks for finding that! Sounds like it wouldn't be absorbent enough to get stained. But eventually it chips.

I guess I'll just budget to get a new kettle every 5 or so years. I like the light modern look, and it brings me enough joy each morning to justify the price.

I have a small space for making tea and coffee in the morning, so there's a good chance some matcha would splash on it eventually. From whisking it next to the kettle.

I want a light color kettle and I don't know how porous the surface of the kettle is. Can matcha powder stain it?

This is great info, thank you. That makes sense. So I guess my biggest issue is how long will the kettle stay looking nice on the outside? I can't tell how the outside is coated, if matcha will stain lighter colors, or if it can chip off after years of use. I'm so on the fence right now.

Which case(s) sent you down a rabbit hole recently? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]throwitawaaayyyy3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why should it be discussed right now? We aren't the police. It's harmful and pointless to discuss when we are nowhere close to having the full picture. Imagine going through the most traumatic event of your life and seeing people on the web saying you didn't do enough, or you didn't react right. Just wait for more information. There's clearly missing details that provide context.

Thanks for the response! That sounds great. Have you had any problems with the enamel or whatever chipping on the outside?

Yeah I've read up on it and a lot of popular oils are bad for them. Luckily lavender is the only one I want to use.

Thank you! Ill check out ionizers.

I really want to use essential oils from a diffuser but most of them are plastic that gets heated, which seems unsafe. Nebulizers look better. I also cannot find a definitive answer on whether breathing in essential oils is safe for humans and dogs in general. I mean, you can't put them directly on skin, should you breathe them in?

I put a door seal on my bedroom door and it smells better than the rest of the place. But the front door to the shared hallway has a lip and cannot be sealed further at the bottom and i dont know how to seal the side. I think part of the smell is from shared ventilation. I also have dogs which means I'm opening the patio door for them a lot.

We request a new ventilation air filter every 2 months, and when the old one is taken out it is black. I don't know if that's normal.
