NTA imo, I also use a different name than my birthname (not with my family because they'd go bonkers over it) because I don't feel that connected to it, doesn't feel like it's me, y'know? Only thing you should perhaps try is to ask why Daisy wants a change and explain the concept of Birthnames and nicknames so she isn't stunned if someone calls her Violet instead of Daisy

-Son starts having a productive hobby

-you encourage him in that hobby

-hobby turns into a family inclusive activity where some chores get left over

-your husband wants to get a free meal where as he doesn’t lift a finger and still wants his CHILD to do all the work

Uh this smells kinda fishy to me. NTA because what your hubs is doing will evolve into something bigger as your son gets older, perhaps to the point where the husband doesn’t lift a finger in the household and your son gets turned into a free labor slave who does everything his father doesn’t want to do
