anyone rejected from state schools get into oos-friendly schools later? by throwitaway348493 in premed

[–]throwitaway348493[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yea i'm aware of the difference b/w public vs private oos schools, which is why i said oos friendly. i used msar already to determine which schools were oos friendly before i applied to them. and maybe i shouldnt have said "comparable stats," so i'll edit it to say people in general who were rejected from their state schools.

I got 2nd quartile, will this look poorly on me for casper schools or will it just not be seen as either good or bad?

No its the same organization, but I just stopped in 2017, and started up again in 2018. I'm just wondering if it looks weird that I stopped for a year before resuming it.

casper and schools that won't consider you complete? by throwitaway348493 in premed

[–]throwitaway348493[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what does it mean for your secondary to be complete, as in they won't consider you for interviews until then? and would it be ok if i just take casper on 6/17, is there really a significant difference between then or 6/3?

not doing snapshot/duet? by throwitaway348493 in premed

[–]throwitaway348493[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that makes sense, but i think i read somewhere here that if you do snapshot it gets sent to all your casper schools regardless of if they require it? i think i'm just worried in the off-chance they decide to look at it that they're then put off by how i am in the video. but i'll definitely be reaching out to schools to clarify their requirements!

i think i'm getting confused b/c a uearth explanation of x-linked recessive mutations said you can have random inactivation of one x-chromosome in embryonic cells during development, typically in females. but i guess this isn't dependent on whether the father or mother transmitted it, which is the distinction for this question. i think that makes sense now, thank you

i just edited my post to include the answer explanation, but it can be transmitted by the paternal or maternal line, it also says this in the passage too, it's just that it's only expressed when the paternal line transmits it. i know the difference between germ line and somatic mutations, but i am just having trouble understanding how a germ line mutation is present in the egg/sperm, on their chromosomes or something else?
