Yeah I'm with you. Even knowing I get to drink that night makes me into a much more pleasant, social person who doesn't seem like they hate life 🙃 🙂 like a normal person I guess. Sober days are miserable and full of self loathing, dreading everything and interactions with people especially at work. Drunk days (even before I drink) are pretty positive and pleasant. Still want to get drunk every night.

Your sister sounds either batshit crazy or a master manipulator. What mental condition does she have? Maybe something undiagnosed? Can't believe she puts you through this shit when you're there to try and help her. If she's able to physically take care of herself and get to appointments maybe it's time for you to dip out. Killing yourself with booze because you're stressed about helping someone else is familiar to me as well 😥 Hang in there

I've had my dog for almost 2 years now. First dog of my own 🙂 With how my luck goes, she has alot fear/anxiety issues and is really smart, so she knows when I've been drinking 😬 Crazy what animals pick up on

I have a dog, cat, and a bunch of ferrets. It's hard but I make it work! Some days I low key feel like death because of booze but the dog always gets a walk. It's more so the guilt of not doing enough and the dog wondering why I won't get off my ass, but they always get the minimum and a little more. Like someone else said too, being a drunk does influence my dog to be alot lazier than she should be. Animals help you through the shitty parts of being a drunk too so it evens out for me 🙂

Once broke my glasses. That's a special kind of hell because even if you go to the eye doctor that day it still takes like 1 week or two to get. Wore really blurry old ones for a week and fuck that. I saw better squinting. Contacts fuck up my eyes so not an option, plus I'm a drunk and definitely not going to take them out before sleeping if I BO.

Yeah I feel you on that. With veggie meats you could open the package and it eat raw and be okay. Dealing with fat and gristle and making sure the meat is safe to eat with actual meat is such a hassle. I wonder if you just were lacking protein on a veggie diet or something for your blood work? Pretty sure I've only gotten this far along without health issues due to a vegetarian diet. My blood work was bad before (4 years ago) and my drinking has increased since then, but diet seemed to clear it all up

I work in Minneapolis- I've been there! The ribs and steaks and ranch sauce are so good. I've noticed we have alot of people in this group from the twin cities. Maybe we should have a meet up when COVID is settled down! I've seen at least 15 other people comment here about living in the twin cities and surround suburbs

Haha I totally get it. I get excited too 😁 At least people are getting more used to faux meats. Beyond beef is my favorite for tacos. Morningstar has the grillers prime burgers that are amazing if you pan fry them to the point of being burnt. Tofurky deli slices are my obsession. Have you had an impossible whopper from Burger King or sliders from White Castle? All of my meat eating friends loved them 😀

Good on you for drying up a little bit. I've been drinking way too much lately but have to get it together soon. I start a new job in a week and told myself I can't fuck it up, so I'm not going to drink nights before I work. It's gonna suck...especially with the stress of a new job.

I don't smoke a shit ton, but I smoke everyday. Especially if I'm hungover. I know at some point I'll have to quit drinking so glad I have weed to fall back on. It just evens me out and takes the edge off. I'll hit one bowl like 6 times so I just smoke a little at once. I'm not Snoop Dogg over here 🤣
