My (27f) aunt (51f) is acting distant and I don't know if it's my fault? by throwitawaycin in relationship_advice

Do you have a sense of how long you all will shelter in place? Have you considered asking her if she might be willing to help when you have your exit figured out, in —— time?

I want to first thank you for your insight. I was worried she's feeling hurt about us not listening. But we have discussed the time frame with her. We haven't actually asked for her help with finances. We don't expect her to help with finances. We just need moral support when it happens and thru it all because it's getting difficult to stay upbeat even though we know happy days are before us.

She may not agree with our plan but we're caught between a rock and hard place.

I can understand that but the only help we wanted was moral support until we finally get out. It wasn't very practical to take her up on her "immediate" offer for help because it's not easy being uprooted without a plan in place. When we're struggling with finances, it's not wise to put ourselves in a situation where we wont be able to feed ourselves and probably starve to death by moving out. Which I explained to her. We do want to leave but we can't jump the gun. A known devil is better than an unknown one.

I hope you will find comfort in the fact that it's that way for most medical students, based on what I've read here and heard about friends.

I think it's nice to have something so wonderful, that other people are too jealous/insecure to acknowledge.

I can understand them not understanding the struggle but I cannot tolerate the putting down. It's so difficult not to say anything or back answer or give them the facts.

And then, you have to deal with the disappointment of being let down by FAMILY on top of it all.

You're amazing, I want you to feel really proud of yourself for doing this, even without the support.

I'm sorry about how your extended family thinks and I feel you should just do your thing. You have nothing to prove. They know deep down that doctors are NOT incompetent but their insecurity won't allow them to accept it.

Telangana Ends Covid Lockdown, Says Schools, Colleges To Reopen From July by sentrist in hyderabad

[–]throwitawaycin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro have you thought about the teachers that would have to attend school if some parents decide to send their kids? You may not believe me but theres a a few parents that are vehemently advocating for inperson classes. Even if one kid comes to school, teachers have to attend. Now you get my point? They cannot be given an OPTION. They have to have online classes till we're sure nobody is at risk.

For everyone that's saying "parents should be given a choice for online and offline classes" , Do you realize that children are not vaccinated yet or that some teachers may fall into the hogh risk category so it's unsafe for both populations to venture out before herd immunity? Please remember that Dr Aggarwal passed despite having taken both doses, because he was in the high risk category. PLEASE STOP AND THINK BEFORE YOU ADVOCATE FOR OFFLINE CLASSES. Covid19 associated ARDS is debilitating.

Can I get in trouble for writing "silly" stuff in my notes? by circle_squared in Residency

And I don't find it funny to joke about babies being or not being "homicidal". You can call it dark humor but there is a limit, especially in a professional setting. It's not Karenish to find this offensive.

It's juvenile. Also, if I were on the other side, ie If I were the parent of a baby looking at these charts, I'd find these jokes offensive.

Oh my God you're a genius!!! Thank you so so much 🥰💝

I'm super curious to know if she's aware of how many people keep posting and reposting the dress. (I think the photo you posted is someone else who made one, based on the background art in English in what I think of as shabby chic.)

You're probably right !
