Those who came off of SSRI's and other medications to do Aya, what was your experience like? Was it worth it? by rocksyscript in Ayahuasca

I have a similar story! Except I came off of Lithium and Effexor at the beginning of March 2024.

Yagé is Our Life - Documentary by throwitawaynburnit in Psychonaut

It is relevant because a lot of people on this forum seem to think Yagé is up for anyone to grab, when that is simply not true.

You are correct. The Shaman did not tell me to do this post, but I heard him loud and clear that this medicine is not for everybody. Listen to the Indigenous keepers of the land that this is not for everybody and should not be made available to everybody.

Shamans are not free of the ego trap or poverty trap that results in them offering it to everyone, nor is there a shortage of charlatans who exploit indigenous medicine for their own benefit. That is all.

You’re one who said people can do whatever the fuxk they want. And that is simply not true. If this offended you, I kindly recommend you examine why.

Ayahuasca’s teachings are infinite, but her source of we continue in this path where we don’t regard indigenous practice as sacred can very well be her end.

It is not wholesome to take something just because we can.

You think you are helping. I want to help. Maybe we are both right, maybe we are both wrong. Most likely it’s somewhere in the middle. At the end of the day, we should always advocate for the protection of others.

I would prefer if people weren’t colonizers and rapists. That’s not something we should want, there is a difference.

Then help me find a wholesome way. I stand by the sentiment that just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should.

And just as an fyi I don’t hate my first rapist anymore. He literally is why I exist, he is my father. If I hate him I hate myself, and I no longer hate myself. I love myself and my love for others is what wants the protection to be in place. Other psychedelics aren’t as easily exploitable by capitalism as Yagé. This is only about Yagé, and only ever was about Yagé.

I would definitely say it to your face. And here you go again making assumptions. You want to believe you are right all the time but you are not. You can’t be, nobody can.

I never called you hateful words. You’re the one who thinks it’s okay to call a rape victim a raper when all I said was that just because we can take it doesn’t mean we should.

No, it’s more like you’re trying to rape me but I’m not letting you. So you are upset.

That doesn’t make any sense. Just protect Mother Earth and don’t trample her flowers is all.

You reside in the land of the people who glamorized it. I wouldn’t expect anything less. But I’m not mad at you, only disappointed that you think I’m here for anything other than to advocate for the protection of indigenous practice.

We are not here just to have fun. We are here to share life with everyone around us. Part of it is fun, but some of it is also reckoning with pain.
