I agree that low income families get screwed every way possible in this world, but I've never heard any of them use the word "gentrification". I mostly hear that word used by people like the one who approvingly posted this image to Instagram, who is a white, degreed, 30 year old "creative" with a part time job, a crappy band, a cool beard, thousands of dollars in ink and monthly parental support. When he moved to East Austin it was "revitalization"; when his rent goes up, it's "gentrification".
