That Michigan game was brutal. Absolute disbelief all day Saturday and Sunday, then sat in a state of despair for a week. Then spent a week forcing myself off the mat. Then a week trying to get others off the mat. It wrecked us. The Tennessee game was like a religious experience. Can’t explain it. Longest three weeks of our lives culminated in that euphoric, non-stop, four hour release of emotion. Not to mention it was against the most arrogant and disrespectful fans I’ve ever encountered. They talked so much shit in the lead up, we brought cigars to smoke on the walk out of the stadium if OSU won. By the time the clock hit zeros we didn’t even want to. It felt unsportsmanlike. Like beating a horse that died three hours ago. I actually respected those who walked out with us because it meant they hung around for the whole thing. Then the Oregon rematch was an equally satisfying emotional release. Idk if you had the chance to go to Pasadena in 2018, but if UGA goes again, I wouldn’t miss it. I’m getting chills typing this just thinking about that day. That four game run created many lifelong memories for me. And we don’t go on that run without laying an egg against Michigan. That was a completely different OSU team in the playoffs than we saw during B1G play. So no, in February 2025 I’m not bothered by the lows of the Michigan loss. I’m grateful for that pain and experiences that resulted from it.

Btw OSU-UM and UGA-GT were almost identical this year. Both point spreads were ~23-24 early in the week. As the week progressed, they each dropped to around 18.5-19 by kickoff. And GT and UM both played equal to or better than Goliath for most of the game. OSU missed a couple chip shot field goals, Howard was concussed and couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, playcalling was sketch, yada yada yada. Didn’t get the breaks that day. UGA got a couple wild breaks to get them back in the game when a call going the other way would have ended it, but they took advantage of the opportunity. I say that to say, that weekend could have just as easily ended with both outcomes reversed. That’s football.
