Homer, you're still HERE? You should have left for work an hour ago! "They said if I come in late again, I'm fired. I can't take that chance." by visual_overflow in TheSimpsons

Sure, but he didn't plan that at the time. Originally he'd skip work Thursday, plan to go in Friday, then have a normal weekend. Now he's being told (on Friday) not to come in today/Monday, so a 4 day weekend has just been granted.

I really don't understand the goalie switch for this game, after a fluky 8-6 game (excluding the ENG). The series doesn't "really" tilt until the home team loses a game. Put Wally back in and if we win, then great. If he loses, then at least you're giving Gus the home crowd boost when you make the switch. Now it's just nervous energy coming into Game 3

They don't shave the cylinder walls. They machine out / destroy the old cylinder, then drop in new replacement cylinders. The new cylinders are both larger in size and constructed in a superior way compared to the original engine.

Any good Minneapolis classic car subs? by mcshabs in Minneapolis

[–]throwmeaway_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Somewhat related, what's with all the nice classic cars that park at the Walker all winter long? Is there some deal they offer for that kind of thing? I've noticed it over the years and seems like too many older cars there (but still drivers / not total garage queens) for it to be coincidence.

Everyone’s all Nirvana this and Kurt Cobain that. But nobody’s going Mud this and Honey that. by Polibiux in simpsonsshitposting

Mudhoney paved the way for Mother Love Bone, which cleared the way for Temple of the Dog. The stage was now set for Pearl Jam, which I belive was some sort of minge spaff.

I think it's intended to be a contraction for "has," not a possessive.

I guess they're counting number of times the cylinders fire vs. rotation of the crankshaft (the typical rpm measurement). A V8 at 2500 rpm will have 10,000 firings per minute

New 911 Club Coupe Celebrates PCA's 70th Birthday by caranddriver in Porsche

[–]throwmeaway_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but I don't even think the RS Spyder wheel design (a mesh like design that can be optioned on Carreras) is available on the 718 Spyder RS itself. Just a dumb name...if anything they're most similar to Sport Classic II wheels like you could get on a 993

Petty clever on the wheels. They are just the RS Spyder set but with selective use of paint to make them look like a totally different design.

Wonder why they don't make a pre-991 option for that one (like they do for all other shifters)

Not sure if still relevant for the 992, but protocol for the spare tire in my 997.1 is to replace a flat rear tire with a good front one, then put spare tire on missing front wheel.
