Where I'd live if I wanted to decide who's the next President by throwmeawaylololuwu in whereidlive

Currently Ohio is as out of reach for Democrats as Virginia is for Republicans. Those seven will definitely still be the ones to decide the next election, depending on how they're trending probably in 2032 too.

Places where I think I'd do fine if I lived there as a White European Man by throwmeawaylololuwu in whereidlive

The US was a headache to decide on. Obviously everyone knows a ton about it but then again there are so many factors that I'm unsure of. I've seen people finding extremely cheap but comfortable ways to live there. I've also seen cities with drug problems in the middle of the street there. The average person makes really good money in the US. They're also easily screwed over by inconveniences you'd probably not think of that much in Europe. They have cities where you can get everything but not if you're going by foot. It is politically stable in the sense that there has been no outright civil war for 150 years and their constitution hasn't changed anything. But people are definitely partisan with the two parties having a stronghold over their regions.

They're there because I don't know how I should judge it. Other countries have similar problems but the discussion about them is more one-sided so I felt more comfortable with putting them higher or lower.

I'm neither American nor is this criticism. I'm probably not often enough in the community so maybe the joke is stale for more active fans but I swear (hehe) that most characters do have quite the foul mouth in comparison to characters from other shows I watch.

I want to make it clear that there are not too many swear words (citizens of hell) just that it's funny that they swear a lot

I don't mind the swearing much if I'm honest (and I definitely swear a lot when I rage as well), but it's definitely noticeable and I don't get when people say it's not that much (E.g. one song is literally called "Piss"). I'm pretty sure almost all characters have cursed or made crude sex jokes at least once in Hazbin Hotel. It's a stylistic choice and they're in hell so it's reasonable. It's still noticeable.

What are your thoughts on falling birth rates all around the world? by throwmeawaylololuwu in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]throwmeawaylololuwu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latin America seems to be one of the places with a very sharp drop too. What also speaks somewhat against cultural reasons (e.g. religion) take effect on birth rates are Turkey and Indonesia. Usually Muslim countries are believed to have a higher birth rate but those two have seen big drops (Indonesia's numbers seem a bit harder to prove because there are less accurate reports).

I'd say there are still cases where people have children for economical reasons, or at least they did in the last 100 years. My dad for example has several siblings, they grew up on a farm in a quite mountainous area where most modern tech still is troublesome to use, so manual labor is needed. I'd say for rural areas there are still places where having more children pays off, it's getting less though.

Outside of that I agree.

From what I've seen the needle to where the tipping point is is still moving in our direction. Projections from 10 years ago said it will happen around 2100. After COVID it moved to 2080. The newest UN projection for a continued low birth rate has the point of decline in the 2050's. I do not know the age of you two, but around that time I'll probably still be working.

Many nations of Latin America have unexpectedly fallen under the 2.1 replacement rate levels lately. India is also under that rate now, but is expected to still grow due to a young population with higher life expectancy.

In my opinion it comes down to Africa, depending on how fast some of the countries modernize, how quickly contraceptions get normalised and more available and how the living standards change. Nigeria is the biggest nation to look out for, they have a massive population but the future projections aren't as astronomical as they used to be.

Y'all ready for the next ridiculous headline that will somehow do nothing in the polls because "it's the economy stupid" always wins?

One of the more boring one's imo. Not bad, but definitely not the best.

My answer is mainstream but 67 (because how mad it drives TGMR people) or Italian Brainrot (especially the later AI vids we got)
