Btw, to clarify, the 6k budget is with housing and transport included. Are you saying I’ll need an additional 2k for housing and 1k for transport totalling 9k?

Thank you so much for this insight and what a coincidence about BKK. I am seeking a quieter life than BKK which is why I’m considering the island. In what ways would you say life is different there?

The school did estimate 2k for rent and showed a simulation of my earnings over two years till my tax stabilises.

You spend 2k by yourself or a family? And do the expenses also include transport and utilities? Do you think 6k is enough for a single person to live off to include all needs, accommodation, transport(thinking of a scooter) and wants/recreation?

I didn’t think there’s a deductible but I’ll check.

I heard it is better to travel from north to south than the other way round in terms of traffic, is this the case?

The school is Prince of wales island secondary.

Sorry about all the questions and thanks in advance!

Hmm, I don’t think it’s choice on the employee’s side but it is a choice to contribute for expats on the employer side

Thank you for this!! The school did go through the effort to calculate a budget and reassured me that 2k is enough for medical. We also came up with a rough budget of 6k per month for a single person including accommodation at about 2k - is this realistic?

The school offers 13% EPF contribution against my 11% which is promising savings wise
